Suhakam: Govt should not appeal NCR cases


KUALA LUMPUR: The Government should not appeal court decisions which favour and recognise the customary and land rights of the orang asli in the peninsula and indigenous people in Sabah and Sarawak.

Nama meragukan dalam daftar pengundi suku pertama 2012


TENOM - Daftar pengundi suku pertama 2012 didapati mengandungi terlalu banyak nama meragukan, kata Timbalan Presiden Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) Datuk Eric Majimbun.

Katanya, banyak nama yang tersenarai dalam daftar pengundi itu tidak mempunyai nama ibu bapa sehingga menimbulkan keraguan bahawa mereka itu adalah orang asing yang diberi kerakyatan melalui pintu belakang.

20 Perkara masih sah kata SAPP


TENOM - Perjanjian 20 Perkara yang menjaga kepentingan Sabah apabila negeri ini bersetuju turut serta menubuhkan Malaysia pada 1963 masih lagi sah, kata Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP).

Presiden SAPP Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee berkata, Perjanjian 20 Perkara itu sah sampai bila-bila kerana tidak ada tamat tempoh.

KOTA KINABALU - The State Reform Party (Star) is taking the position that there's no Malaysia without four important constitutional documents and/or conventions viz. the 1963 Malaysia Agreement (MA63), the 20/18 Points, the Inter Governmental Committee Report (IGCR) and the Cobbold Commission Report (CCR).

It's not possible to ever ignore, drop, do away, annul and/or amend these documents or claim that they have already been incorporated in the Malaysian Constitution and/or alternatively overtaken by events, whatever that means, said the party in a statement.

UMNO Leaders won’t bother Sabah being called poor


SIPITANG: If there is no deterrent to BN government, Sabah would likely to remain a poor state in Malaysia. In as far as UMNO leaders are concerned they aren’t perturbed by such title. That is why SAPP dare enough to challenge by filing a lawsuit on Borneonisation issue.

Two days ago High Court of Kota Kinabalu dismissed the application made by Federal Government and State Government to strike the suit. That is good enough for SAPP, said Hj Amde Sidik, Deputy President of SAPP.

Jangan bimbang bantuan terus kekal selepas BN tumbang


TENOM: Ahli Majlis Tertinggi Parti Maju Sabah (SAPP) Roger Stimin mengingatkan rakyat bahawa mereka tidak perlu gusar atau bimbang berhubung bantuan yang mereka terima sekarang ini daripada kerajaan BN akan hilang selepas BN tumbang pada PRU-13 dan digantikan kerajaan baru.

Star denies lacking in vision and mission


KOTA KINABALU: The State Reform Party (Star) has denied allegations by the Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat, Ronald Kiandee, that the party “has no vision and mission, lacks ideas and is struggling to the extent of harping on the same old ideas”.

Star, in a press statement, clarified that it’s a party of the young generation with a clear vision, mission, objectives, and goals and “this is reflected in its calendar of activities” or the Vimoga concept.

KOTA KINABALU, May 26, 2012: The High Court dismissed an application by the federal and state governments to strike out a suit brought by a former policeman and a former teacher seeking several declarations relating to the Borneonisation policy.

Nurul Izzah: Ceramah video the best proof

Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar countered Umno’s allegation that it was PKR’s provocation that led to the fracas on Thursday night’s ceramah, saying there was video proof.

The PKR vice president said the best proof to the actual events that resulted in the ceramah being pelted with eggs and stones was in the video recording by reporters covering the ceramah.

“The best proof is the video recording,” said Nurul Izzah (right).

Sipitang, a dumping ground for foreign labourers


SIPITANG - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) said Sipitang has become a dumping ground for foreign labourers from Nepal and India.

"Their presence was visible in the Sipitang town nowadays, said Hj Amde Sidik, who is the Deputy President of SAPP.

Amde, who is also South Zone and Constituency Liaison Committee Chairman for N28 Sindumin said these foreign labourers are recruited by Sabah Forest Industries.

KOTA KINABALU: The State Reform Party (Star) shares the sentiments of the Democratic Action Party (Dap) that the possibility of one-to-one fights in Sabah to take on the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) at the forthcoming 13th General Election is non-existent.

SAPP: BN Has No Clue on SAS

SAPP Youth Exco member Clement Lee has called on the UMNO led-BN government to explain the failure to elevate the SAS to its original value, 14 years after the financial crisis in 1997-1998, even when all the counters in BURSA and Unit Trusts price have recovered to its original value or higher.

Penampang State Library being left to rot


PENAMPANG - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) has criticised the State Government for leaving Penampang State Library building to rot.

Information Chief, Chong Pit Fah said that with the present state of the building at Donggongon Town, it would not be long that another state library building is declared unsafe.

"We are puzzled why the government is not bothered with the upkeep of an important facility for the Penampang district. Kota Kinabalu City has already lost its library.

LAHAD DATU - Sabah Environmental Protection of Sabah had organized an Appreciation Dinner and Environment Photography Exhibition in Lahad Datu at Dewan Sri Perdana on Sunday 19th May 2012 in order to appreciate those who had help in lahad datu during the NO COAL campaign.

Opposition parties should share burden and difficult seats


TAWAU - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) has called on opposition parties not only to share burden but also on difficult seats.


Its president, Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee, said opposition parties should not choose safe seats only but also share the difficult ones.

"SAPP has already made known we are taking one third of the parliament seats and two thirds of state seats and we have agreed in principle but we also have to share the burden, even the difficult seats," he said yesterday after the annual general meeting of SAPP Sri Tanjung, Apas, Balung and Merotai branches.

PAPAR : A former senior vice president of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah (PBRS) who had joined opposition State Reform Party (Star) has likened Prime Minister Najib Razak as victim of a “supply and demand” situation within the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN).

US company investing for oil production in offshore Sabah


Can Najib unilaterally decides all things including investment in Sabah and how does Sabah benefit especially oil production investment??

NEW YORK: ConocoPhilips, among the world’s biggest oil producer from the United States, has invested US$1.5 billion (RM4.6 bilion) in Malaysia so far for oil production in offshore Sabah.

Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak said the company’s investment was to realise the 300,000 barrels per day production target in 2016.

TB in Sabah killing four people weekly


Illegal immigrants in Sabah are being blamed for the fast spreading tuberculosis disease which was once almost eradicated.

KOTA KINABALU: The uncontrolled influx of illegal immigrants into Sabah has spawned a lethal infectious disease, once thought to have been almost eradicated.

Tuberculosis, more commonly known as TB, is killing people on a weekly basis in Sabah and the spread of the disease is being pinned on the immigrants who have been pouring over its borders for years.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah State Reform Party (STAR) is blowing hot over the planned RM127 billion oil refinery in Johor, claiming it would be an “incalculable” economic loss to Sabah.

Diesel shortage grounds 150 fishing boats


KOTA KINABALU: About 150 fishing boats are unable to go to sea since last Friday due to alleged red tape in the management of subsidized diesel supply.

According to Kota Kinabalu Fishing Boat Owners Association chairman Simon Hong (seated centre, with the association committee members ), the supply of subsidized diesel that was introduced in 2006 has been helpful in reducing costs for fishermen but the decision to suddenly stop the supply has badly affected their fishing operations.
