IS terrorists makes fresh threat to kill Jordanian pilot

An audio message purportedly from Kenji Goto has been released by Islamic State militants who are holding the Japanese journalist hostage.

In the audio message, a voice speaking in English and said to be that of Goto says a Jordanian Air Force pilot will be killed if an Iraqi would-be bomber is not released by sunset on January 29.

The audio recording says the Jordanians must present Sajida al-Rishawi at the Turkish border or Jordanian pilot Mur'as al-Kasaseabeh will be killed.

The Japanese government said it was analyzing the recording.

The message appeared to postpone a previous deadline set on January 27 in which Goto said he would be killed within 24 hours if the Iraqi was not freed.

Rishawi is on death row in Jordan for her role in a 2005 suicide bomb attack that killed 60 people in the capital, Amman.
