DAP, don't promote your wicked political culture to Sarawak

SIBU - Bandar Kuching MP Chong Chieng Jen’s defence of Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua and the frequent visit by other DAP politicians from Peninsular Malaysia to campaign in Sarawak are glaring signs of state DAP’s strong support and subscription towards despicable political campaign that promote racism, hatred and manipulation, Sarawak BN Backbenchers Club (BNBBC) chairman Abdullah Saidol said yesterday.

“Chong’s criticism of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem is a sign of Sarawak DAP insecurity,” he said, in reacting to Chong’s statement that the banning of Pua from entering Sarawak was a clear sign of Adenan’s support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

Added Abdullah “DAP Sarawak is merely an extension and always been a Peninsular Malaysia-based political party.

“Chong and his DAP comrades in Sarawak are basically agents who are given the task to promote wicked political culture by their supreme political masters in Peninsular Malaysia.

“A character like Tony Pua was even slammed by six-term DAP MP and PAC deputy chairman, Dr Tan Seng Giaw, for continuously making baseless accusation.

“There are also strong allegation that Tony Pua has close association with Sarawak Report and The Edge daily which are being accused of plotting to topple a democratically-elected government, create chaos in our country and challenge our sovereignty as a independent nation.”

Abdullah, who is chief political secretary to chief minister, said the state government was fully justified to reject the entry of a person like Pua, whom he said, would bring bad influence into the state’s peaceful multiracial society.

“And we don’t have to clarify too much of our action because Sarawak government has the absolute power to do so as part of our administrative autonomy,” he said.

The Semop assemblyman also noted: “Chong’s attitude is weird because I always thought Chong supported CM’s effort towards claiming more autonomy on various power and authority from the federal government, but instead criticised Adenan for exercising our right and authority.”

He said Chong’s allegation that Adenan’s action was a sign of support for Najib only showed how clueless and insecure Chong and DAP Sarawak could be.

“The failure of their Yellow T-shirt gathering is also a sign that the majority of Sarawakian rejected and despise public confrontation and tasteless political campaign so frequently associated with the opposition.

“Tony Pua’s rejection from Sarawak is also a message to the opposition that we Sarawakians are not in favour of their ugly brand of politics,” he said.
