Teh resigns as Penang DAP organising secretary

Tanjung Bungah assemblyman Teh Yee Cheu has today tendered his resignation letter as the Penang DAP state organising secretary effective Monday.

The resignation through an email was addressed to the state chairman Chow Kon Yeow and state secretary Lim Hui Ying.

In his resignation letter, Teh informed the party that he has decided to resign over his support of the Umno motion on reclamation at the Penang State Assembly on Nov 20.

Last week, Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblyman Muhammad Farid Saad proposed for all reclamation for development to be subjected to a prior public hearing.

Speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang rejected the motion tabled by Farid (BN-Pulau Betong) after 23 assemblymen voted against the motion, 10 voted for and five abstained.

The motion was also voted for by Teh.

However, Teh had apologised for voting for the motion in a press conference after the state assembly sitting.
