Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Abdul Rashid Harun said their probe have so far revealed that revenge was the likely motive of the murders of Hii Lam King, 36 and Ting Wen Hou, 23.
He however remain tight-lipped as to whether police had any idea on the identities of the two gunmen involved in the killings.
“Let us carry out our investigations,” Abdul Rashid told reporters after meeting state secretary Tan Sri Sukarti Wakiman at the sidelines of the Sabah State Assembly sitting here.
Hii and Ting were killed when two persons riding a motorcycle fired multiple shots at their four-wheel drive vehicle along Jalan Kolam at Luyang.
Another 23-year-old who was sitting in the rear seat of the vehicle escaped unhurt in the 7.30am incident.
All three men in the 4WD vehicle were from Sibu, Sarawak.
Sabah CID chief Datuk Salehuddin Abdul Rahman had said that witnesses told police that two men on a motorcycle rode up beside the Toyota Ninja King 4WD and fired at least eight shots.
