Double Six: People must know the truth

KOTA KINABALU - NGO SUNDUVAN Sabah movement will be organizing an event to commemorate “Double Six” (6 June 1976 Tragedy) again this year after receiving encouragement from the people of Sabah last year who voluntarily joined in to pay tribute to the victims who were killed in the tragic accident.

This year Sunduvan Sabah is once again been given the trust to organize the said event working together with a combination of NGOs in Sabah as well as several political parties such as SAPP, STAR Sabah and PCS to make the event a success.

Sunduvan Sabah Chairman Aloysius Danim Siap said that the goal and purpose of holding this wreath laying ceremony is to commemorate the Sabah native leaders who died in the plane crash while flying back from Labuan to Kota Kinabalu after discussing the oil agreement with Petronas.

It is sad that until now the people of Sabah are still waiting for the report and the actual cause of the accident of Australia made aircraft GAF Nomad.

Sunduvan Sabah again reminded and specifically asked the government to be transparent and come up with a statement on the real reason for the tragedy so that the people of Sabah will finally know the truth.

Aloysius, who is also organising chairman said the commemoration of this 40th anniversary of the Double Six Tragedy of our Sabah heroes on June 6 and on behalf the organizing committee,he would like to invite the public to come and join in this wreath laying ceremony which will be held at 9:30 am sharp at the Double Six Memorial Park in Sembulan. Dress code is black or dark.
