Six nabbed over Bill Kayong's murder

MIRI - Police arrested six suspects over the murder of Miri PKR branch secretary Bill Kayong, who was shot dead at a traffic intersection in Lutong on June 21.

Sarawak CID chief SAC Dev Kumar Sree Shunmugam said the five male and one female suspects, aged between 22 and 41, were arrested last night and this morning.

"They are remanded for seven days for questioning," he said in a statement, here.

He said the task force was unable to divulge more details at this moment so as not to jeopardise the investigation.

Kayong, 43, who lost in the contest for the Bekenu seat in the Sarawak state election on May 7, was shot by an unknown person at 8.30am while he waited in his Toyota Hilux for the traffic lights at the intersection. – Bernama
