Anti-illegals crusader quits PKR

KOTA KINABALU  - Surgeon Dr Chong Eng Leong has decided to call it a day from active politics as he handed his resignation letter to PKR Sabah chairman Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin on Tuesday.

Chong, 71, also relinquished his post as the PKR Sabah Electoral Roll Affairs and Illegal Immigrants Bureau head, according to Lajim.

Chong had contributed much to the party not only for his service and contributions to the party but also his well-versed knowledge and commitment to ensure the Sabah's electoral roll is clean as he did much research on the perennial problem.

He knows the issue from A-Z, including the existence of phantom voters and illegal immigrants with Malaysian identity cards or MyKads, says Lajim.
