Jong-nam murder: Arrest warrant out for Air Koryo employee

KUALA LUMPUR - Bukit Aman has issued a warrant of arrest for an employee of North Korean airline Air Koryo to assist in the investigation into Kim Jong-nam's murder.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the warrant was issued against Kim Uk-il, 37.

"We have given him time to cooperate but he has not done so.

"Thus, the warrant was issued to compel him to cooperate," he said when contacted Friday.

Khalid also confirmed that a letter requesting the cooperation of North Korean embassy second secretary Hyon Kwan-song has been sent through Wisma Putra and delivered to the embassy.

Jong-nam was assassinated on Feb 13 by two women, who smeared his face with the deadly VX nerve agent at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 departure hall just before he was to take a flight to Macau.

The women - Indonesian Siti Aisyah and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong - have been charged with the murder.
