80 clash in front of Ampang Hospital


PETALING JAYA - The police were forced to wade into a fight in front of Ampang Hospital yesterday with 80 men allegedly using their motorcycle helmets as weapons in the scuffle.

According to The Star, police said that the group had ignored their orders to disperse in the incident which took place at 3.15am.

The report said video footage of the fight showed two men attempting a getaway on motorcycles while others tried to stop them. At the same time, another group was seen chasing two other motorcyclists and pulling them off their vehicles.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Hamzah Alias told the daily that two men were arrested, one of whom had been wielding a parang.

According to the report, the case is being investigated under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958 for carrying weapons in public places.
