Immigration now says it will not deport Jessica

Former Attorney-General’s Chambers officer Jessica Gurmeet Kaur will not deported from Malaysia, says Immigration Department deputy director-general Sakib Kusmi.

“There is no need to deport her. She can apply for a special or social visit pass since she is married to a Malaysian,” The Star quoted Sakib saying yesterday.

However, Sakib declined to comment whether Jessica is still in Malaysia at present.

On Thursday night, it was reported that Jessica had her work contract with the Attorney-General’s Chambers terminated.

Jessica, was the head of administration and finance at the AG’s Chambers and also served as secretariat for the special task force investigating 1MDB, which was under then attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail (left in photo).

She, along with former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission adviser Rashpal Singh, were picked up by the police on July 31, following allegations of the leak of a charge sheet on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Jessica, a Singaporean with permanent resident (PR) status, has been living in Malaysia for more than 20 years and she also had her PR status revoked.

She is said to be preparing to file a judicial review and an explosive affidavit to challenge her termination from the AG's Chambers and the revoking of her PR status.

However, attorney-general Mohamad Apandi Ali has said that Jessica’s termination was according to her contract. What a ridiculous explanation.
