TENOM - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) claimed that the voters' list in the electoral rolls for the first quarter of 2012 contained many dubious names.
Its deputy president, Datuk Eric Majimbun, said many of the names in the list did not have the parents' names, thus giving the impression that they are foreigners issued with the Malaysian citizenship through the back door.
"There are names without a bin or binte that identifies the person is a male or female.
"What's more baffling is that the National Registration Department accorded these people the Malaysian citizenship that qualify them to register as voters just like what we have found in the voters' list for the first quarter of 2012," Eric said during the SAPP state-level Pesta Kaamatan celebration 2012 at Kampung Pulong here over the weekend.
Also present were SAPP president Datuk Yong Teck Lee, party advisor and former State finance minister Datuk Mohd Noor, vice president cum organising committee chairman Jimmy Jawatah, deputy president cum Likas assemblyman Datuk Liew Teck Chan, Wanita chief cum Luyang assemblywoman Melanie Chia, vice president Jaafar Ismail, Youth chief Edward Dagul, supreme council members Gaimin Stephan and Roger Stimin and information Chief Chong Pit Fah.
Eric, who also is the Sepanggar member of parliament, said these foreigners not only became voters but also robbed Sabahans of the opportunities in the various sectors.
Meanwhile, Mohd Noor said one of the main problems that has been facing the people of Sabah is the presence of a large number of illegal immigrants.
He said this problem can be solved if the people are united in toppling the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the coming 13th general election and choose SAPP to form the next state government.
"The opportunity to change the BN government comes only once and the time is during the forthcoming general election," Mohd Noor added.
"Dubious names in 2012 electoral rolls"
ReplyDeleteWe have heard this in every election but nothing has been done by SPR to clear this.
UMNO dogs must be charged for treason by selling off our country to illegal immigrants!
Charged for treason! Agreed. Question - What punishment do you suggest? Do we need to waste anymore tax money by feeding and housing these traitors in prison? Sorry but no prizes for the best answers.
DeleteThe Electoral Commission did request the Prime Minister to halt the GE-13 so they can clean up the voter registration list.
DeleteClean and fair election is vital!
DeleteNot only Sabah facing it but Sarawak too.
DeleteThe dubious voters should be investigate first and strike off the list.
ReplyDeleteIf no feedback from the dubious voters when their name are published, just delete their name from the electoral list.
DeleteWe live in the world where computers took its place.
DeleteThe Prime Minister just announced that the Federal Government have approved the RCI for Sabah last Friday, hopefully it can be implemented before GE-13 so that the electoral rolls can be cleaned up.
DeleteIt should be cleaned up before the GE took place.
DeleteDubious voters are over long standing issue need to be rectified asap.
DeleteClear and fair election is what we all desire.
ReplyDeleteCases like these have to be investigated properly.
ReplyDeleteThoroughly.
DeleteWell I believe they know what to do to those so called dubious names.
ReplyDeleteScreen and possibly delete them in need be.
Deletepadamkan saja nama mereka dari senarai pemilih..
DeleteThis is so dangerous.
DeletePlease do something about this to avoid casing more electoral problems.
Deletethe only way to remedy the existence of dubious names in the electoral roll is by forming a RCI. as such, the federal government should set up the RCI immediately and do the job properly and profesionally without fear or favour.
ReplyDeleteThe RCI panel needs to appoint fair and just individuals to take part in the inquiries.
DeleteDatuk Eric Majimbun bin apa???
ReplyDeleteEric Majimbun is Muslim?
DeleteRCI needed to make necessary investigation.
ReplyDeleteThe EC should make sure a clean election list.
ReplyDeleteElection shouldn't be held till the dubious name list are clear.
ReplyDeleteThe people urge for clean election. Thus, What EC can do to ensure the result are fair?
ReplyDeleteKami menantikan implementasi RCI.
