Does PBS/UPKO/PBRS still has any credibility and legitimacy with the people?

These, PBS/UPKO/PBRS clowns know when to give sweet talks during election time, but for all these years they have failed to protect and defend our basic pride and dignity. Ask these clowns the following facts:

1. Where were you when your government took away our Native Customary Rights (NCR). Did you stand up to defend our rights? What exactly did you do? Why can't you defend these rights?

2. Where were you when this government allowed numerous land grabs on our native land?

3. Where were you on the issue of development? Why are the roads still like they were 30 years ago? Explain why in 30 years there is not much improvement in the road infrastructure and you claim to be happy with this BN government?

4. What did you do when this government was conducting mass Islamic conversion of our people? What did you do when Muslim were making unreasonable demands against our people? Did you at least speak up against their bigoted practices?

5. What did you do when this government refuses to entertain your request for an Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI)? If not because SAPP kept hammering the issue, this government would have never entertained your request.

6. What is the point of “Gelombang Tataba” when it is just another form of corruption. Of using government to gain favour from a specific religious group. Why don't you support the idea of separation of church and state, or religion and the affairs of government, which clearly is an obstacle to the equitable growth and economic prosperity of a nation. The Muslim do this with extreme prejudice, and you are just fostering the legitimacy of the Muslim to give large sums of the peoples' money for the affairs of an idiosyncratic entity. Government should not be in the business of using state money for the express promotion of religions no matter what religion it may be.

7. As the title holder of the Huguan Siou, what have Pairin Kitingan done to defend the sanctity and dignity of this institution when someone misused this title? As far as I know nothing was uttered to defend the integrity of the Huguan Siou institution. 8. When there are over 50% of Momogun people who are in dire poverty, what have you three party clowns done to uplift the living standards of our people? Given the fact that we are naturally a wealthy nation, what efforts if any have you done to help our people get out of poverty?

9. Why is it so hard to find a solution to move our people out of poverty when you yourself is brimming with wealth and prosperity? I can think of many ways to help our people get out of poverty even without government assistance, but why you as part of the government cannot even come up with one single meaningful solution?

10. Have you attempted to fight for at least 20% royalty share of our oil revenues? If not, then why not? You of all parties, born of Sabah have not even until now made a commitment to fight to increase our royalty rights to 20%. You who are sons of this soil ought to be the first ones to fight for our interest, but you did not. Do you still believe you have the right to ask for the people's support?

11. Is it true that Pairin Kitingan is a signitary witness to the Petronas agreement in which Harris Salleh signed off a 5% royalty contract? If so what is Pairin doing today to change this illigitimate contract that was sign under duress?

12. Have you made any attempt to defend our 20 points memorandum rights as promise in the Malaysian agreement of 1963? If not, why? The 20 points is the very core of our nations foundation, but you have conveniently ignored it because you were more interested in your self interest rather than the interest of the people and our nation.

13. Do you still have the right to ask for the people support today when you obviously had neglected all the core fundamentals that guarantees our existence as a autonomous nation?

14. The 1st article in our 20 points memorandum is the issue of “No State Religion in Sabah;” what have you done to support this article as agreed by our fore-fathers and the solemn oath of the “Batu Sumpah” erected in Keningau? For over 20 years, not once did you bring this up with this government of which you are a part of.

15. Why does it fit for you to join with BN to suppress our people? To remain silent with all the policies and acts of this government against our people? Why didn't you take the courageous act of leaving this BN coalition to fight the people even if it meant living in poverty? It is better to live in poverty for as long as everyone is in the same boat, but to make yourself rich while your people are suffering in poverty is totally disgusting. A cowardly act by shameful people. You have betrayed the people and now you want the people to continue to support your party so you can continue to enriched yourself while the people continue to live in abject poverty.

16. Today, this government is contemplating making Bugis as Bumiputra of Sabah. What will you do about it? It is obvious that Bugis do not originate from Sabah just as the Chinese originated from China. The Chinese were in Sabah long before any Bugis came to Sabah. If anyone were to gain the Bumiputra status don't you think the Chinese is first in line?

17. What do you think of the Bugis community giving themselves a hefty 30,000 acres of land for their community's development? Are you going to do anything about it to stop this illigitimate affairs from going forward?

18. What have you done to help our young people who had gone to Malaya in search of jobs and only ending up being prostitutes because they are to poor to find a decent livelihood? What have you done to help our people find jobs? Meaningful jobs and not just kuli kuli sahaja?

19. Do you have a solution to our PTI problems today? How are you going to empower genuine Sabahans? Well SAPP has a solution to this and it is called Sabah IC. What is your solution? Are you willing to support SAPP's Sabah IC solution? If you care about our people why not support this solution?

20. What have you to say about our autonomy? Isn't this our right as promised in our nationhood? What if any is your stands on this matter?

21. What have you done for the non-Muslim people who cannot get a job in government or government agencies? This government had a silent understanding to hire only people of the Muslim faith to ensure that over 80% of government staffs are from the Muslim faith and while all of this is going on, what have you done to fight for the rights of our people or people of the non-Muslim faith? If you have done something wouldn't we see the fruits of your efforts? Why do you have to kowtow to the dictates of this government when it is clear that this government is not for the interest of our people?

22. When government forms depict only Malay, Chinese and Indian as the Malaysian race and marginalized our people by referring native of Sabah as others (Lain Lain), are you agreeable to this? What have you done to fight this injustice?

It is clear that our people are marginalized and very well relegated to third class citizens in our own country, but what have you done about it? Have you tried to even speak up for our basic rights? Obviously, you have not made any meaningful efforts to protect and defend the rights of the Momoguns. You have lost your credibility to represent the peoples hopes and dreams.

You have been a total disappointment to the Momogun people. The only right thing for you to do today is to resign and get out of politics completely as you no longer have the trust of the people. You can continue to hoodwink the people and cheat them to vote for you, but you no longer have the credibility and the legitimacy to speak for the people because you have obviously neglected the very hopes and aspiration of the people to be educated and to be prosperous.

I wrote this reply to your insidious media display (as shown above) to gain the support of the people in just 15 minutes. If I had spend an hour to write this I would have come up with more reasons as to why you (PBS/UPKO/PBRS) no longer have the credibility and legitimacy to call for the people's support.

Yong Teck Lee’s new political strategy to oppose Pakatan Rakyat and hinting he would also ditch Dr Jeffrey’s State Reform Party (STAR) anytime is also meant to hijack Dr Jeffery’s old battle cry of ” Sabah For Sabahans”, “Sabah Rights” and now “Ini Kali Lah”, and keep his minority flock in his pocket.

  129. BN DALAM PBS/UPKO/PBRS TERUS DIPERLUKAN DI SABAH

    BN MAKES SABAH BETTER

The coming state assembly elections for Sabah may be a pivotal moment in determining the future trajectory of the state’s political economy and indeed progress, in the near term. Pitted against each other are two contesting visions of Sabah: the incumbent coalition government comprising the Umno-led BN in a coalition with local parties Party Bersatu Sabah (PBS), United Pasok Momogun Kadazan Organisation (UPKO),Party Bersatu Rayat Sabah (PBRS) and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), are campaigning on a platform of good governance which is supported by the arithmetic of rapid economic growth — approximately 7 per cent on average — in the last ten years of Musa Aman’s government.

    ReplyDelete

On the other side is the Pakatan Rakyat combine shepherded by Anwar Ibrahim and Bumburing’s Angkatan Perubahan Sabah (APS) and Lajim Ukin’s Pertubuhan Pakatan Perubahan Sabah (PPPS), which still believes that it can acquire power in Kota Kinabalu by manipulating the state’s race and religious arithmetic in its favour. The Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and Sabah STAR is the third front in this contest — trying to take on the incumbent government on a Borneo agenda-Sabah autonomy, rather than governance plank — but not yet powerful enough to be a credible alternative in government, leaving many to believe that both the SAPP and Star Sabah have been planted by Barisan National to split the opposition votes. After all, President Yong Teck Lee himself will have plenty explaining to do on what he did during his tenure as chief minister when SAPP was in the BN.

    ReplyDelete
  131. BN DALAM PBS/UPKO/PBRS TERUS DIPERLUKAN DI SABAH . BN MAKES SABAH BETTER

It would be in the larger interest of the state of Sabah and its people if this election puts to rest the notion that power can still be captured based on old social divisions and grievances. It is important for Sabah’s political economy to move on to a politics of aspiration, where people vote for a party or coalition that delivers governance. This will force all serious political parties (including the SAPP and Sabah Star if they want to remain relevant) to contest future elections on a forward looking governance plank in the spirit of the Malaysia Agreement within the framework of the Federal Constitution, rather than a backward looking social engineering plank. This time round, such reasoning undoubtedly favours the UMNO-PBS combination which is the main pillar of Barisan National Sabah, and a majority of opinion polls, for what they are worth, suggest an easy victory for the Musa Aman-led coalition.

    ReplyDelete
  132. BN DALAM PBS/UPKO/PBRS TERUS DIPERLUKAN DI SABAH . BN MAKES SABAH BETTER

But a political economy which puts governance at its centre may not favour the incumbent government for all times to come, such are the huge challenges facing any government that is elected to power in Sabah. To what extent can Musa Aman’s government claim credit for Sabah’s apparent turnaround, powered by a growth rate higher than Malaysia’s average over the last five years? A dissection of the growth figures shows both the contribution of the government and the challenges that remain. Most of Sabah’s growth these past five years has been powered by agriculture, construction, tourism and services, particularly hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, trade and, to an extent, oil and gas. The impressive growth in these sectors isn’t matched by the lethargic performance in manufacturing — those are challenges that still face the next government.

    ReplyDelete
  133. BN DALAM PBS/UPKO/PBRS TERUS DIPERLUKAN DI SABAH . BN MAKES SABAH BETTER

The state government can claim credit for fuelling the growth in agriculture, fisheries, tourism and construction, since much of this has come through rural development projects, water supply, electrification, bridges and roads funded through the federal and state’s exchequer. In fact, the government’s public spending record has been good, and a massive improvement on the poor spending record of the previous governments before Musa Aman that preceded it. Planned spending was tripled within ten years of the Musa Aman government taking office. This has spillover effects, in a Keynesian “stimulus” sense. Apart from increasing spending, the government has also taken huge strides in improving the law and order situation especially in the east coast of Sabah where bulk of the illegals with fake or questionable Malaysian identity have outnumbered the locals. That has helped boost not just agriculture and the construction activity but has also given a fillip to service industries in the tourism sector like hotels and restaurants which have registered impressive growth.

    ReplyDelete
  134. BN DALAM PBS/UPKO/PBRS TERUS DIPERLUKAN DI SABAH . BN MAKES SABAH BETTER

In short, the government has effected the turnaround in the state’s economic fortunes by simply doing the two things any good government ought to: implementing law and order as well as spending on infrastructure. In doing so, it has reversed the long decline in the state’s fortunes that took place before Musa Aman took over the chief ministers in 2003. It is also important to remember that a lot of this impressive growth in the last five years has plenty to do with Sabah starting from a very low base — and that there is a limit to the sustainability of a growth rate that is powered largely by government spending and a small section of services industries and not forgetting that Sabah is the 2nd largest state in Malaysia with an area of 74,500 sq. km which is 260 times bigger than Penang, which is only 293 sq. km in size even, smaller than Sabah Forest Industries (SFI). Therefore for growth to be sustainable it needs to be more broad-based into manufacturing and agriculture.

    ReplyDelete
  135. BN DALAM PBS/UPKO/PBRS TERUS DIPERLUKAN DI SABAH . BN MAKES SABAH BETTER

Here, the task gets a lot harder, and will involve massive policy reform in land, labour and product markets. What makes Sabah’s task of industrialisation harder than that of some other states is the fact that goods are more expensive in Sabah due to the federal government’s cabotage rules a policy set in the early 1980s, making sure that all the domestic transport of foreign goods could only be done by Malaysian vessels, reducing Sabah’s attractiveness as an investment destination. This protectionist policy has led to excessive shipping costs, importers and exporters in Sabah had to pay more than RM1 billion for shipping services as a result, causing prices everywhere in East Malaysia to go up and ultimately a higher cost of living and higher price of goods as producers hike up prices to compensate the increase in cost of production. Further more, Sabah lost a lion’s share of its industries after Labuan became a Federal Territory.

    ReplyDelete
  136. BN DALAM PBS/UPKO/PBRS TERUS DIPERLUKAN DI SABAH . BN MAKES SABAH BETTER

What may also turn out to be an unforeseen advantage is the rather shambolic state of governance in surrounding states — Sarawak, Brunei, The Sulu States, and even Kalimantan. If Sabah can consistently outperform these states on governance, it could easily become the industrial hub of East Malaysia — a region which still trails Penang and Selangor on most economic parameters by some distance.

    ReplyDelete
  137. BN DALAM PBS/UPKO/PBRS TERUS DIPERLUKAN DI SABAH . BN MAKES SABAH BETTER

But to capitalise on these potential advantages, the Musa Aman government will have to do much more than maintain law and order and actively engage in spending which has been done of late with a huge budget approval of over RM4 billion this year. It will also need to take bold policy steps to liberalise rules that deter investment. In doing so it may have to go further than other states which already have a head start in attracting investment. The government will, for example, need to ease labour laws and better wages, so that Sabahans can be gainfully employed within the state. It will need to take aggressive steps to ease land acquisition so that it can have an advantage over neighbouring Sarawak. If the government fails to do this and more, growth will begin to slow, giving the opposition plenty of ammunition. At any rate, Sabah’s future elections ought to be fought on these issues of the future rather than the outdated legacies of the past. This leaves Musa Aman still the best man for the job.
