By Yong Teck Lee
The last minute, unilateral change of date, time and place and change of organizer and moderator is like an ambush to kill off the debate even before it started.
But in the interest of public awareness and Sabah's future, I hereby accept the new date, time, place, organizer and moderator picked by Tan Sri Harris.
Since this public debate is "to raise awareness, not to raise funds," the attendance at the debate should be free of charge; no fee should be charged at all. Everybody is welcome to attend. Seats should be reserved for senir citizens and reporters from the media.
As a matter of fact, I did not receive any sms from Harris but a stranger who had sent an incomplete message.
So now, I sincerely hope Harris will not make any more changes.
Based on news report, the debate issues are:-
1) 20 points/Malaysia Agreement
2) 1976 Oil Agreement
3) NBT-SAS Shares
4) Federalisation of Labuan
5) 1985 Istana Power grab
6) 1986 Riots leading to the Karamunsing fire
7) Rampant issuance of ICs whereby Harris had refused to testify when recalled by the RCI Illegal Immigrants recently.
Datuk Yong Teck Lee, ex-Sabah CM, Lawyer.
Harris should be asked to explain:
ReplyDelete(1) whether he has self-appointed himself as Chief Spokesman in Borneo for Umno, Putrajaya & the PM;
(2) why he's acting as a sycophant in Borneo for Federal Gov't;
(3) his various pro-Malaya/anti-Sabah statements in the local media;
(4) whether his press statements are being written by the Daily Express which, the public suspects, is also writing press statements for Umno Sabah & the Sabah Gov't;
(5) his recent statement that Sabah leaders incl previous leaders are responsible for the mess the "state" is in. Does that include him? Who was the worst?;
(6) illegal immigrants getting MyKads by the backdoor & entering the electoral rolls;
(7) Did he signed the oil agreement for fear of another plane crash;
8) the plane crash;
(9) Pribumi issue;
(10) Berjaya giving land to illegal immigrants; (
11) Labuan;
(12) his idea of making a one-off payment of RM 200m to Sulu;
& (13) any other questions from the Floor ...
if harris were to explain it now ..i dont think what harris say now wud make any diffrence.. its a waste of time and energy..

ReplyDeleteHarris Salleh is as much to blame for failing to safeguard the position of Sabah in Malaysia and its local members of parliament
ReplyDeleteHarris on the issue of the 20-Points Agreement, was irrelevant because it had already been assimilated into the federal constitution.
ReplyDelete20-Points Agreement is relevant as long as Sabah is part of Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the Borneonisation of the public services under Point No. 8 when 80% of the top posts in government departments are headed by Malayans while Sabahans are only given low-ranking positions and menial jobs?
DeleteThese 2 old men please la bertaubat la
ReplyDeleteKedua-duanya bekas KM yang teruk..mujurlah bukan mereka yang berkuasa selama2nya
DeleteKeep on harping and harping. Endless fights
ReplyDeleteBeginilah pemimpin2 politik yang tidak profesional..bukan pentingkan kemajuan rakyat tapi susahkan rakyat ada la..
DeleteEconomists here foresee further capital formation investments flourishing in the Malaysian economy next year, given the ongoing projects to be implemented over the next two years.
ReplyDeleteWorld Bank senior economist for Malaysia, Dr Frederico Gil Sander, said the bulk of these projects would come from the sectors of oil and gas (O&G), infrastructure as well as real estate.
ReplyDeleteWorld Bank senior economist for Malaysia, Dr Frederico Gil Sander, said the bulk of these projects would come from the sectors of oil and gas (O&G), infrastructure as well as real estate.
ReplyDeleteNotable projects in the O&G sector include the RM60 billion Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (Rapid) project in Pengerang, Johor, and the RM3.
ReplyDeleteinvestors interest would also be spurred by the progress in the infrastructure and real estate sectors, such as the billion ringgit Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project, the RM4.
ReplyDeleteMalaysia’s vision in promoting a green economy also saw the launch of the MyHijau Label, a certification for green products, by the Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry.
ReplyDeleteHarris and Yong, shameful duo
ReplyDeleteThe implementation of the Sustainability Achieved via Energy Efficiency (SAVE) Programme has increased the market share of five-star energy-efficient products such as refrigerators and air-conditioners to 40 per cent.
ReplyDeleteFormer chief minister Datuk Harris Salleh has been ordered to return the RM1mil awarded to him by a High Court in his RM50mil defamation suit against Sabah Progressive party president Datuk Yong Teck Lee
ReplyDeleteA three-member Court of Appeal on Monday allowed Yong’s appeal to set aside the March 1 decision by judge Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli.
ReplyDeleteAbdul Rahman had ruled against Yong for insinuating that Harris was somehow to be blamed for the Double Six air crash tragedy that killed then Chief Minister Tun Mohd Fuad Stephens in 1976.
ReplyDeleteIn setting aside the High Court decision, the Appeals Court panel of Datuk Linton Albert, Datuk Anantham Kasinather and Datuk Seri Zakaria Sam ordered Harris to pay RM150,000 in costs to Yong.
ReplyDeleteIt ordered Harris to refund the RM1mil and other amounts already paid by Yong within two weeks.
