Heli crash: Identity of sixth victim still unknown

Aidana Baizieva
KUALA LUMPUR - The Kuala Lumpur Hospital has yet to determine the identity of the sixth victim of Saturday's civilian helicopter crash in Semenyih.

In a new twist surrounding the mystery of the sixth victim on board the ill-fated copter, a spokesman from the hospital today said the identity of the sixth victim, reported to be Aidana Baizieva had not been confirmed.

The spokesman, who declined to be named said that even the victim's gender had yet to be identified.

On the remains of the pilot, Captain Clifford Fournier, the spokesman said that the American embassy was in the process of preparing the necessary documentation.

"We cannot reveal more as it is a police case," said the spokesman outside the mortuary.

Meanwhile, another spokesman told reporters that only Kyrgyztan embassy officials had come to the mortuary today.

"There were no next-of-kin present," said the spokesman.

The spokesman urged people to refrain from speculating on the victim's identity.

In an earlier report, a spokesman from the Kyrgyzstan embassy in Kuala Lumpur confirmed to the New Straits Times that Aidana was from the country.

The spokesman was unable to confirm her occupation and where she worked but said that she has been working in Malaysia for at least a year.

"According to our records, she was not married."

"She is a Muslim, but we are not sure whether her remains will be taken back home or of she will be buried here," said the spokesman, adding that this would be decided by the family.

The spokesman said that Aidana's sister would claim her remains today.
