JOHOR BARU - A-37-year-old jobless man was arrested at his house in Larkin Jaya barely seconds after his second seditious posting against the royal family of Johor today.
The suspect who goes under the name of "Ruslizam Bin Hj Elias" on Facebook made his first seditious posting last Monday, proclaiming himself to be god and also hurled insults at the royal family.
A concerned 31-year-old citizen from Majidee lodge a police report bringing the matter to the attention of authorities who setup a special task form to investigate such crimes.
Johor police chief Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd said the suspect was arrested at 3.30am and had his mobile phone seized pending investigations.
"The suspect was earlier arrested and charged in October this year and was released with a fine of RM150. The suspect is being investigated under Section 4 (1) Sedition Act 1984 will be remanded till Tuesday for further investigations as police are also probing if the suspect acted as a paid cyber trooper" he told reporters at the Johor police headquarters.
"The penalty of the crime carries a fine up to RM2,000 or a jail term up to 18 months, or both."
Police are expecting to arrest another suspect believed to be a female for impersonating a Johor royal family member.
"Be cautious with your words, do not disturb the harmony and peace of the rakyat especially with issues relating to religion and royal household."
"We will find ways to catch you, even if its cyber world the law will do its duty," stressed Wan Ahmad.
