KOTA KINABALU – A joint declaration was signed Tuesday by leaders of Gabungan Sabah (United Sabah Alliance) here to adopt a common election manifesto, as well as not to contest against each other at either state or parliamentary seats.
The three parties in the declaration agree to work together to identify state and parliamentary seats that Gabungan Sabah intends to contest and cooperate on the said seats distribution within Gabungan Sabah for the forthcoming General Election.
The declaration among others stated on the adoption of a common election manifesto and to liaise and cooperate with any other local opposition parties or organisations in the next elections for regime change in Malaysia towards a new order in Sabah.
“The positive steps were realised to meet the people’s aspirations to see a one-to-one contest against BN in the next general election,” the loose coalition said in a statement.
Gabungan Sabah chairman, Datuk Hj Mohd Noor Mansoor said the joint Declaration by the three Presidents (of the parties involved) and he himself, exemplify the determination to create a strong mutual understanding in achieving a ‘Sabah for Sabahans’ and Unity in Solidarity for Autonomy.
Signatories to the declaration were Mohd Noor in his capacity as the chairman of Gabungan Sabah; Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Bumburing of Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS), Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan of STAR and Datuk Seri Panglima Yong Teck Lee of SAPP.
It was witnessed by all Gabungan council members.
