A question of the country's sovereignty and national securityKota Kinabalu, February 11, 2011: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Youth Leader Edward Dagul lodged a police report today at the Kota Kinabalu Police Station, Karamunsing, Kota Kinabalu on the so called Sultan of Sulu coronation in Kg Likas, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah recently by a certain Datu Mohd Akjan B. Datu Ali Muhammad.
PKR's Ronnie Klassen also a similar report. Dr Chong Eng Leong was present.
According to his report referred to what was reported in the media, both in the electronic and the local dailies, that Datu Mohd Akjan B. Datu Ali Muhammad had been ceremonially installed as the 33rd reigning Sultan of the Sulu Sultanate on 2 February, 2011, after taking his so called Oath of Allegiance in a private-yet-symbolical ceremony held at one of Akjan's properties in Kampung Likas here.This self-styled coronation in Sabah as Sultan of Sulu is a direct challenge to Malaysia's sovereignty over Sabah and an insult to the Malaysian Sultans and our Sabah Head of State.
Today's press statement by the Commissioner of Police, Dato Haji Hamza Taib that since no formal report had been lodged by anyone, the police was not able to do anything.
