“STAR Sabah’s Cause and Vision Different, History in Sarawak Irrelevant”

By Edward Linggu

“STAR Sabah’s cause for Sabah is very different in its vision and mission for Sabah and the history of STAR in Sarawak is irrelevant” says Edward Linggu, Information Chief of STAR Sabah in reply to Dr. Jerip Suser, former secretary-general of Star in Sarawak.

STAR Sabah’s cause is purely for the restoration of the rights of Sabah and its people which has been eroded by the Peninsular and the federal government.  The rights of Sarawak as an equal partner in Malaysia can also be said to be eroded over the years until, like Sabah, it is one of the 13 states in Malaysia.

Does Dr. Jerip acknowledge that Sarawak like Sabah is 1 of 3 nations that formed Malaysia in 1963 or 1 of 13 states as in practice now by the federal government?

It is apparent that Dr. Jerip does not understand the cause, vision and mission of STAR Sabah.

“I will be more than happy to visit Dr. Jerip and give him an introduction of STAR Sabah’s cause.  I am sure that at the end of the introduction, Dr. Jerip will support a similar cause for the rights of Sarawak in Sarawak” added Edward.

STAR Sabah is gaining support for its cause all over Sabah.   As a result, STAR Sabah is causing sleepless nights for BN leaders so much so everyone of them is chasing shadows over STAR Sabah.

If STAR Sabah is irrelevant and does not have support, why would Dr. Jerip even bother to comment.

The history of STAR in Sarawak is not relevant in Sabah.   A closer analysis will show that it failed in Sarawak due to leaders like Dr. Jerip who are not committed to Sarawak’s cause.

STAR Sabah is very clear in its objectives, vision and mission for Sabah and will leave it to the people in Sabah to decide.

  1. STAR masih baru, bukan senang untuk rakyat memberi keyakinan terhadap parti baru yang tidak tahu keupayaannya di Sabah.
