Star - Set up homeland security

“The State government need to take drastic and urgent steps to ensure the better security of Sabah and its people and should immediately set up a HOMELAND SECURITY to complement and supplement the shortcomings of the federal agencies in protecting the people in Sabah” suggested Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, STAR Sabah Chief, at the launching of the STAR Sabah, Ranau election machinery in Kaingaran,  and in response to the furore and anger reflected in the internet social networks caused by the recent cruel and brutal murder of the teenager, Norikon Saliwa, in Kota Marudu allegedly by foreigners.

Dr. Jeffrey stressed that one of the key factors why Sabah was pushed to the merger and formation of Malaysia in 1963 was the security threats from Indonesia and Philippines and that Malaysia when formed would take care of Sabah’s security.

However, the federal agencies responsible for Sabah’s security and borders have failed to live up to their expectations.

Therefore, Sabah must have its own Homeland Security to ensure the better safety of its citizens and its borders in the wake of increasing crimes being committed by foreigners/illegal immigrants against locals and the influx of illegal immigrants all over the State.

In recent times, foreigners have shot and killed locals, grievously hurt and assaulted others to the extent of limbs being severed and have been responsible for many, many cases of break-ins, burglaries and robberies.   Even the police are not spared and have been assaulted by these foreigners.

These brutal crimes committed by illegal immigrants with Malaysian Mykads say a great deal about Sabah’s internal security and border controls and prove wrong the denials of the government including, Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department who said “ the presence of 889,770 legal and illegal foreigners in Sabah is not a threat to the country or the state's security and order” and recently, Musa Aman, the CM of Sabah, who said ““Due to continuous commitment of all agencies involved, the security level has continued to be very good throughout the State (Sabah)”.

The Sabah government must also consider taking full control of the State immigration and national registration departments to ensure the laws are implemented and to safeguard the sovereignty of Sabah.

STAR Sabah views the Sabah security situation very seriously and will ensure that a Ministry of Homeland Security, Immigration and Registration is established when it is voted into power.

After 49 years of neglect and victimization resulting in a takeover of the political franchise by Malaya through the illegal immigrants and given MyKads through the back-door, the time has come for Sabah and Sabahans to take control of their own sovereignty, autonomy and complement security in Sabah.  The establishment of the Ministry of Homeland Security, Immigration and Registration is now timely.

  1. ENOUGH of these illegals and PTIs ruining our homeland. We Sabahans demand full control of our own sovereignty, autonomy, immigration and border security. We must ensure the change of administration during the next election to safeguard the future well being of our children and children's children.

    1. Sabah is meant for good Sabahan leader, kata Anwar di Tuaran. Soalnya siapa? Jeffrey? Anwar lupa bagaimana Jeffrey tinggal dan lubangkan kapal PKR di Sabah, sehingga Azmin terpaksa pergi tutup semula lubang

    2. Anwar jelaskan kepada Azmin, ‘new politics is about wisdom. forgive and forget. kita nak menang PUTRAJAYA‘. Frasa kita nak menang Putrajaya ini yang jadi kacau bilau.

  11. All the revenues from oil & gas, sucked dry by the Federal Gov't and so indirectly by UMNO/BN with little or nothing left for Sabah & Sarawak. Just compare: Scotland in Great Britain and Quebec in Canada had an open, honest & fair national referendum on cessation/separation. Any talk of independence and your ex Sabah CM Tun Faud Donald Stephens died in a crash. Sabah & Sarawak are a total tragedy, not even a proper trunk road! The natives lack electricity and drinking water while Criminals bought submarines and built twin towers costing multi-billions for kick-backs; all cronies live in palaces. Outrageous! BN's evil is earth-shaking. Finish them off in the coming election. !

  12. We see so clearly from a true democracy overseas: BN/UMNO are using your money to destroy you longer and further after all these 55 yrs. Using tax-payers money to bribe & buy votes. Using Gov’t radio, TV, papers, resources, infrastructure, equipments, vehicles…not giving Opposition a level-playing field. Instead sabotaging Opposition, Human Rights Groups & NGOs wanting justice and fairness. Citing communism, terrorists and all kinds of outlandish ideas. Why are you forgiving these crooks & criminals? All right-thinking Rakyat must support Bersih's 8 electoral reforms for Free, Fair and Clean GE. An UMNO-led Gov’t is NOT a democratically-elected but winning through Fraud & Corruption. BN’s endless tricks, lies, deception, theft, accumulation of funds… to stay in power. It’s a vicious spiral, to cling to power they will do anything. Then they use your money to fool you & destroy you further! Vote them out!

  13. You don't find one sentence on the Scorpene scandal in the mainstream press, New Straits Times, The Star, Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian. You don't hear a word about Scorpene on RTM 1 radio. RTM TV1, RTM TV2 or TV3. Tells you something, doesn't it? Such a BIG thing and not a whimper about it in the mainstream media mean the so-called journalists, radio and tv broadcasters are all UMNO-MCA-MIC paid goons. This is deception & blind-folding, to support multi-billion thefts. This is crime against the people, of astronomical proportion, against the people that elected them! Malaysia’s great tragedy. Experts say the people have lost some RM300 billion (RM300,000million) or more to corruption in the last few decades.

  14. Your PM’s Impeachment is long overdue. Scorpene scandal is only the tip of the iceberg. Think, before the arrival of internet media, twitter & blogs, how much has been plundered, squandered and hidden by Sarawak’s Taib, PBB & KL’s UMNO. Howard Zinn: “….…Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation……….obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves…(and) the grand thieves are running the country. That’s our problem.” You should call for the resignation or arrest of UMNO, MACC, Sabah & Sarawak leaders now.
