One of the candidates for next week's re-election of the DAP central executive committee (CEC) has publicly lashed out at his leader for treating Malays as token representatives.
A former DAP vice-chairperson, Zulkifli Mohd Noor, called Lim Guan Eng a dictator and accused the Penang chief minister of having a hidden agenda to strengthen the standing of himself and his father Lim Kit Siang in the party, The Star reported today.

"Guan Eng is behaving more as an autocratic and a dictatorial leader and this is upsetting many Malay members in DAP."
He also said Guan Eng was to blame for the last December's CEC polls fiasco and should resign as secretary-general to take responsibility.
Zulkifli is one of 62 DAP candidates who are competing for 20 spots in the CEC elections that will be held on Sept 29. There are seven other Malays contesting.
DAP has said it conceded to the Registrar of Societies (ROS) directive to hold fresh elections to its CEC even though it maintained that ROS, which has been investigating the party since early this year, acted unprofessionally.
