Norikoh's Death: Prosecution to appeal against acquittal

KOTA KINABALU - The prosecution will file an appeal against the acquittal of Pakistani trader, Amir Ali Khan Nawaty on a charge of causing the death of Norikoh Saliwa.

Deputy public prosecutor Raja Zaizul Faridah Raja Zaharuddin said that it is the decision of the Senior Federal Counsel (SFC) to file an appeal against Amir's acquittal.

Meanwhile Peter Marajin, who held a watching brief for Norikoh's family said that he is happy to note that the SFC will be appealing against the acquittal.

"I am happy that they will be appealing for the sake of justice," said Peter who expressed dissatisfaction with the ruling and said he was surprised by the Judge's decision.
