SAPP questions Edwin`s contest for KDCA presidency

KOTA KINABALU - The newly elected vice president of Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), Aloysius Danim Siap, has called on DAP secretary Dr Edwin Bosi to be honest on why he wishes to challenge Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan for the presidency of the Kadazandusu Cultural Association (KDCA).

"Of course anyone can contest for the position. After all, it is the most renowned NGO for the indigenous ethnic communities in Sabah," said Aloysius yesterday.

However, he said it is amusing but shameful to hear that Dr Edwin finds it fitting to seek endorsement from a self-declared Sino before declaring his intentions to vie for the most important post in our community.

"The fact that he needs consent from his political boss shows his depth of dependency on DAP.

"As if even a highty educated native like himself cannot make simple decisions without Jimmy Wong's approval. This has shamed the community," he added.

Edwin, who is also the Kepayan assemblyman, announced on Monday that he will be vying for the presidency of KDCA next year as he wanted to revamp the role of KDCA.

Dr Edwin also disclosed that his intention to contest for post had received the endorsement from Jimmy who is DAP Sabah chairman.
