BN government's "People Last"
KOTA KINABALU - It is absolutely unnecessary for the people to have to endure for 30 years on flood problem if the BN government is doing as they say about "People First".
Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Tanjung Aru CLC Chairman, Datuk Richard Yong We Kong said that it is also unacceptable that the area in Tanjung Aru lama which is near the sea side has to suffer flood problem each time it rains.
"Obviously these were all due to lack of basic infrastructure in the area, ill-designed and insufficient drainage and failure in managing the rubbish. From our (SAPP) visits to the areas in Sembulan Baru, Sembulan Lama, Sri Pandan, Taman Bersatu in Tanjung Aru and Petagas area, the most common problems are drainage, flood, rubbish and poor living conditions.
Richard, who is also SAPP Secretary-General further said that State government has spent RM112 billion in the so-called Sabah Development Corridor (SDC) projects, one of which is the RM24 million Sembulan River Park but he people tend to ask why is it that they don't feel any direct impact from all these spending?
"Why do they still have to live in places surrounded by rubbish, risk walking the broken wooden bridges, living under leaking roofs and suffer the floods? Why is it that priority being given to the tourism projects instead of addressing the immediate needs of the local people?
"We don't intend to do finger pointing because I think this is much to do with "system failure" in the present government. The only way to rectify the failed system is to change the government.
SAPP CLC Tanjung Aru has in its local manifesto included "Master Drainage System in Sembulan, Tanjung Aru and Putatan area" as one of the priority matters to be addressed by the new government, says Richard.

ReplyDeletethere are lots of areas that the government needs to cover.. so might as well find an alternative solution to this problem while waiting for the government.
DeleteSAPP now try to find the people problem. Faham-fahamlah..General Election will coming soon. hehe
ReplyDeletekalau tu SAPP jadi kerajaan negeri pun, bukan diorang kasi selesai tu masalah tu...
Deleteit is only when election is just around the corner that the SAPP suddenly find the people's problem and voice it out for them.
Deletedulu masa SAPP berkuasa, tak pula prihatin mcm ni.. sekarang baru lebih2.
Deletetaktik mudah SAPP untuk pancing undi. bagus tolong terus selesaikan masalah ni.
DeleteSAPP mau jadi hero..jadi perkara-perka kecil begini pun mereka mau kasih besar juga.
DeleteBiasalah tu, SAPP memang suka berlagak hero. Bila dah dekat PRU-13 barulah nak cari kelemahan orang.
DeleteSAPP mahu ikut2 macam musuh ketat mereka, DAP.
DeleteThe government need to look into this matter for the sake of the people living in this area.
ReplyDeleteThe safety of the people should be prioritized. People may fall while walking on the broken bridge.
DeleteIt is very important to attend to the needs of the local people.
ReplyDeleteThe needs of the local people should never be ignored because in the end , they are the one who will do the voting.
DeleteHopefully something would be done before the next general election.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the people needs, its best for the government to provide it to them before election comes. Their trust and support are important in winning the election.
DeleteProblems are being found here and there only as a result of the next election around the corner.
ReplyDeleteSomething must be done for the local people to avoid lost of properties.
ReplyDeletethis matter has been left unsolved far too long. It need to be solved immediately.
ReplyDeletepeople first, performance now...
ReplyDeletethe govt will solve the problems...
ReplyDeletechanging new government may not change the situation.
Deleteselagi YTL and the gang dalam parti, SAPP tiada peluang untuk menang...
ReplyDeletehe is a liability to the sapp. Sapp would have gone far if there is no YTL.
DeleteSAPP mahu ambil tugas DAP.
Deletesaja ba tu.. dia mau ikut rentak pembangkang2 lain..
Deletebiasalah tu, masing-masing mahu menonjol katakan.
ReplyDeleteSAPP pandai saja mengutuk, setakat buat aduan tapi tiada tindakan susulan. Tiada cerita juga tu tempat.
