KOTA KINABALU - The perpetrator behind the robbery-cum-murder of a primary school teacher at the victim's house in Ranau on Friday, was probably known to her, according to the police.
Initial investigations have revealed that Masinah Samadi, 50, was attacked by someone familiar to her, following a break-in at the house located near the Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd quarters in Kundasang.
She was found dead at 10.35am, with multiple stab wounds on the head and body.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman said initial police investigations revealed that Masinah's house was broken into by a person known to her.
He said the death of a victim during a robbery was usually because the former knew the perpetrator.
"The perpetrator usually, will not kill if he/she did not know the victim because there is no need to keep the crime a secret," he told a news conference here today.
On Friday, Masinah's husband found her blood-soaked body on the floor when he arrived from work.
Earlier, Jalaluddin attended a Hari Raya Aidiladha function at the Nur Islam Mosque, Sabah police contingent headquarters in Kepayan here. – Bernama
