KFC Segama outlet robbed

KOTA KINABALU - Workers at a 24-hour fastfood outlet in Jalan Segama here were left stunned when a man who ordered a cup of coffee and sat for hours at a table suddenly turned out to be a robber. It was learnt that nobody was hurt in the incident.

City Police Chief ASP M. Chandra said preliminary investigations showed that the man entered the premises at about 2am and sat at a table for close to two hours before proceeding to the counter to buy a hot cup of coffee before returning to the same table.

At about 4.53am, the man who by this time had his mouth covered with a cloth, stood up and walked straight to the table where the unsuspecting outlet supervisor was sitting and demanded that the supervisor handed over the cash which was kept in the safe before fleeing with RM4,500.

The man was seen fleeing through the back door before driving off in a Proton Saga. Chandra said a witness described the man to be in his 20s, fair, clean shaven, average built and stood at about 5 foot 5 inches tall.

He urged those with information to contact the city police hotline at 088-221191.
