SAPP welcomes Anwar on "PR-SAPP can negotiate"

By Datuk Yong Teck Lee

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) welcomes Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim's land mark statement that Pakatan can negotiate with SAPP and SAPP need not join the Pakatan Rakyat in achieving a one to one fight against the BN.

As de facto leader of PKR and PR, Anwar has re-set the button on the relationship between SAPP and Pakatan to the same positive footing that SAPP had with Pakatan in 2008.

On the policy framework, SAPP has been supportive of the national opposition agenda for change, clean elections, an independent judiciary and an efficient economy. In fact, SAPP's two MPs at the parliamentary level, Datuk Eric Majimbun and Datuk Chua Soon Bui, have been consistent on this matter.

Further, SAPP's 8 point declaration in June 2008 stated that the government shall be of the people based on good governance and civil society and non-racial politics based on a progressive, just and harmonious society.

At the same time, we also fight for Sabah autonomy, 20% oil royalties, return of Labuan, review of unfair federal laws in Sabah, Borneonisation of the civil service, solution to the illegal immigrants issue and redressing the socio-economic imbalances affecting Sabah.

    Harap jangan gagal lagi!

  2. Pakatan's political direction is to challenge and replace BN. They have to think of a win-win situation. Sabah is only one state among the 13 states. Pakatan already control 4 states and may be 2 more to come in Peninsular Malaysia.
Give Sabah based party some room, some role just the same way Sabah being "invited" to form Malaysia.
It will be better for the country if BN had been fair to Sabah and, if Pakatan willing to be fair to Sabah.

  3. Everytime SAPP mentioned they wanted to work together with PR, but it always does not work out. Will this time be any different.

  9. PR can win without SAPP but SAPP needs the support of PR to win.So SAPP should not be big-headed.You need PR to have a chance of winning.

  10. jangan terlalu bergantung dengan PR, hati mereka belum tahu sejauh mana ikhlas support SAPP.

  12. Who are the malay candidates in SAPP? The rotten eggs who could not find any place in UMNO.

  13. Correction, Sapp malay candidates are the most suitable ones. Why? They support the harmonious inter-racial and religious tolerance in Sabah, not like Umno's.

  14. In Sabah, PR needs the support of SAPP to win. They need each other to counter BN. If not, PR can say goodbye to Malaysia for the next GE.

  16. We'll see how the two parties will cooperate in this matter.

  18. SAPP suka "Tea Table Talk" like tactic dulu with Pak Lah bah!

  20. As i said before, this alliance will never going to work if the leaders from both party failed to address their supporters at the grassroot level to stop arguing with each other!

the example is the comments by SAPP supporters above my comments...see how the commentators address DAP as "jahanam"?
