ESSCOM, besides security

By Haji Amde Sidik

Several suspicious events took place during and after Kirams’ intrusion into Lahad Datu. One was time lag in making decision by the authority, two weeks to be precise enough to create suspicion in people’s mind. Second was the establishment of ESSCOM (Eastern Sabah Security Command) could also mean to contain something significant to affect the GE13 result and third, the selection ESSCOM’s head.

At the beginning it was at anyone guesses I think politicians weren’t sure of how gravitated the situation was.

Bigger game plan

But it has been in Sabahans' minds all along the intruders were UMNO’s leaders game plan, we all know the existent of fixed deposit, the mother of all fixed deposits is here, what else could it be-Malaysian IC was found in the procession of one of the leaders that got killed and another had worked with Kudat District Council.

Assumption was that political leaders dared not treat them harshly, if they did that would jeopardise the chances of forming the State government.

No money was mentioned in the two weeks negotiation by the way. Does it mean that Kiram’s followers were intoxicated by Kiram’s daydream? In Kota Kinabalu, fishmongers at wet market started talking about that they soon would take over the state government.

ESSCOM gets hold UMNO districts

The establishment of ESSCOM was viewed in many facades by many because its the most appropriate time to repair the damage create by lame duck decision.

On the issue of the most suitable candidate cannot be from West Coast or Interior of Sabah, because the prerequisite must be a person who can be slightly camouflaged.

I share with Abu Nawas' conspiracy theory; in that ten districts have 30 UMNO DUNs.

It doesn’t require special security intelligent or training like that in so long as it is convenient enough for political expedience would suffice.

As such, the ESSOM region can now come under government agencies’ nose, good excuse for government machineries to have full access to deal with people on the ground.

It is therefore dissolution of parliament must only take place until indication shows that BN UMNO win these areas.
