LAHAD DATU: SECURITY forces brought out the body of a man believed to be an intruder from Kampung Lok Sambuang, yesterday.
The body, clad only in a pair of trousers, was handed over to the police at the Cenderawasih police station in Felda Sahabat, at 6pm.
Sabah police commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib, who confirmed the incident when contacted, said police would carry out an investigation into his death.
"I have contacted my men on the ground and was told that there was no shooting."
Meanwhile, police detained a man and a woman believed to have connection with the Sulu armed intruders in separate locations, on Thursday.
A local, aged 38, was picked up at Tanjung Aru in Kota Kinabalu while the 45-year-old woman was nabbed at the operation area of Sungai Bilis in Felda Sahabat.
Sabah deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Tan Kok Liang said police arrested them under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012, adding the woman was in possession of an identification document issued by the self-proclaimed Sulu Sultanate.
On Wednesday, police arrested a "Datuk Seri" identified as Clarence Luing Karl @ Muhammad Khalil John L. Karl along with his wife and stepson at a low-cost flat in Tanjung Aru.
Police also confiscated several documents in connection with Kiram's family from Clarence.
The trio were arrested under Sosma and police were also investigating the possibility that Clarence was involved in providing funds.
On Monday, a man identified as Datuk Seri Muhammad Ridzwan Sulaiman gave himself up at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters after he was being sought by police.
Ridzwan admitted to giving funds to a Sulu sultan identified as Muedzul Lail Tan Kiram and not Jamalul Kiram III whose men were involved in the Lahad Datu intrusion.
He claimed that the funds was to protect the interests of Muslims in the Philippines and that Ridwan represented a charitable organisation known as Persatuan Pertubuhan Kebajikan Al-Ehsan.
