Wearing a red traditional Malay costume with a turban, he arrived at the station about 11.05 this morning accompanied by more than 10 people.
Speaking to reporters before surrendering, Muhammad Ridzwan admitted that he provided financial assistance to the Sulu Sultan, Sultan Muedzul Lail Tan Kiram, in Jolo, Southern Philippines, whom he met on 15 and 16 Sept last year.
He however denied that Jamalul Kiram, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the armed intrusion, is the Sulu Sultan. "I don't know Jamalul Kiram," he added.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib issued a statement yesterday requesting Muhammad Ridzwan to surrender immediately at the nearest police station.
Hamza said Muhammad Ridzwan, who was not involved in the Southern Filipino terrorist incident, could help police in their investigation on the February 12, Lahad Datu armed intrusion case.
