A young woman says Allah gives everyone the right to choose - and the Muslim girls chose to go on stage and hug their K-Pop idols.
KUALA LUMPUR - A fresh scandal will most likely erupt now that a young Muslim woman has defended the actions of the three young girls at the centre of a K-Pop concert scandal, saying they only went on stage because they had the blessings of Allah.
According to the Malay Mail Online, the young woman, identified as an “ustazah” or religious teacher in some YouTube accounts, has uploaded a video explaining in depth that the three tudung-wearing Muslim girls consented to being hugged and kissed by a K-Pop artiste from B1A4 because Allah did not intervene and stop them from going up.
“They were on stage with Allah’s permission because in this life, Allah gives us one thing—that is choice. Allah gives us the choice. Allah gave us the choice whether we want to go or not, do something consciously or not,” she explained.
She added, “And they chose to go and Allah permitted them to go; they chose to stand up there and Allah permitted them to be on stage.”
The “ustazah” then singled out members of the public who had harshly criticised the three girls and the K-Pop band, describing them as “keyboard warriors” who were pretending to be better Muslims than anyone else.
In her view, the entire incident, which went viral quickly and has since involved the country’s religious authorities, was a test from Allah to see how the girls would learn from the incident and how other Muslims would react to it.
In her video, she said, “But behind Allah’s permission for this to become viral, Allah actually wants to test those of us who are so good at becoming keyboard warriors to abuse, to speak ill; as if you are all so good since you were born until now.”
Saying the three Muslim girls and their families were already suffering a great deal of shame because of the incident, the young “ustazah” added they would most likely end up becoming better Muslims than the keyboard warriors who relentlessly criticised them.
She also lamented that instead of showing love, Muslims and Malays had chosen to argue bitterly over the incident instead.
Yesterday the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) announced their intention to go after the three girls for their “indecent” behaviour and said the girls had six days to come to their office to explain themselves, failing which, an arrest warrant would be issued against them.
