KUCHING - Organisers of Sarawak Bersih 4 have called off the second day’s rally at Song Kheng Hai rugby field because of the presence of children, and the lack of a sound system.
Chief organiser Nicholas Mujah said the presence of many children at the field last night may have breached police conditions imposed on the rally.
The sound system had also been taken back by its owners, and Sarawak Bersih representative Karen Shepherd said there was no point in continuing without a sound system.
Mujah said Parti Keadilan Rakyat had arranged for the use of the sound system, according to Malay Mail Online.
About 100 people had turned up to resume the rally after returning home last night.
Shepherd apologised to the 100 participants, saying that the message had been delivered to the government.
