KUALA LUMPUR - Police have arrested three people following a possible terrorist threat in the federal capital.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said they comprised a local man as well as an Indonesian and a Syrian national.
Noor Rashid said all three were detained to assist in investigations.
"Bukit Aman has contacted the embassies of the United States and Australia on the security level relating to possible terrorist attacks," he told Bernama Friday.
On Thursday, the United States Embassy and Australian High Commission here were reported to have issued a travel advisory on the possibility of terrorist attacks in Jalan Alor near Bukit Bintang and its surrounding areas.
Noor Rashid reiterated that the security situation was under control and the people need not be worried about their safety.
"I have directed my personnel to be on duty to monitor any suspicious activities," said Noor Rashid. - BERNAMA
