RANAU - A total of 70 villagers of Kampung Takutan here repaired the roads connecting their village to the burial ground and farms.
The villagers volunteered to repair the badly damaged roads after it did not receive any help from the government, according to Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Treasurer General, Japiril Suhaimin.
“I received a call from the village’s representative, Sabidi Sabayoi regarding the problem where the badly damaged roads caused the villagers to have difficulties in marketing their plantation products as well as in the event of burials,M he said in a statement.
He said the villagers of Kampung Takutan have been working hard to develop their farming but due to the road conditions, it is hard for them to sell their produces.
The roads were badly damaged to an extent that even four-wheel vehicles have difficulties to enter the areas.
The villagers here hoped that the Kundasang assemblyman and Ranau MP can come forward and help the village upgrade the road network to asphalt or cement for the convenience of the community.
“On that prospect, I am amazed with the efforts shown by the villagers to work hand in hand to repair the damaged roads by using basic tools,” he added.
