Blogger says Opposition resorted to slander and character assassination when they could not counter what he was saying.
PETALING JAYA: Controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin says that the members of the Opposition are angry with him as he has exposed them as “mere frauds and snake oil charmers.”
In an interview in the New Straits Times today, the Manchester-based blogger said the Opposition opposed the Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement (MCLM) (of which he’s the chairman), when it was launched, “out of fear and ignorance” – using the example of the people in the old days who insisted the earth was flat and feared venturing too far for fear of falling off the earth.
Raja Petra said that people steeped in ignorance feared the truth and indulged in wishful thinking and eventually became delusional.
“So when I reveal the truth behind the real face of the Opposition, and when I expose (jailed Opposition leader) Anwar Ibrahim for the fraud that he is, the Opposition people cannot accept this truth,” he said in response to claims that he was a turncoat.
He said twisted logic and fallacies could not survive the test of logic and this was what upset the Opposition.
“They are supposed to be the upholders of the truth and yet I can prove that they lie at every twist and turn.
“I strip them naked and I expose these lies.”
Raja Petra said that when the Opposition could not counter what he was saying because it was true, they resorted to slander and character assassination.
Raja Petra left Malaysia for the United Kingdom in February 2009 and has been living in Manchester ever since, in self-imposed exile, where he continues to run his MalaysiaToday website. -FMT
