Parti Harapan Rakyat to be officially launched 20th Dec

KOTA KINABALU - Some 2,000 party members and supporters are expected to attend Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah’s (Harapan Rakyat) official launching ceremony on Tuesday.

The launching ceremony is slated at 9am at the Hakka Hall here, said deputy president Datuk Maijol Mahap in a press statement released here.

The party which has been approved by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) on October 24, has so far amassed 15,000 membership application forms, he said. Maijol said its president Datuk Seri Lajim Ukin will be present to officially launch the party.

“We have extended invitations to the leaders of other local parties to the event, namely Datuk Seri Wilfred Bumburing of Parti Cinta Sabah, Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal of Parti Warisan Sabah, Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan of Star and Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee of Sabah Progressive Party.

“We have also invited Datuk Mohd Noor Mansoor, the chairman of the United Sabah Alliance,” said Maijol. He added that it was appropriate to launch the party this month as the party then can concentrate on preparing their election machinery at all levels for the 14th general election.
