Fake firearms seized in KK

KOTA KINABALU: City police seized hundreds of imitation firearms from a shop and storeroom at a shopping mall, here, Wednesday.

Police also detained a shopkeeper and seized thousands of gel bullets that officers said can still hurt if shot at sensitive places like the eye.

Among the imitation firearms seized were those resembling the Armalite sniper's' rifle, M4 and Steyr assault rifles, .38 Smith and Wesson revolver as well as Glock and Desert Eagle handguns, all of which are used by many countries' law enforcement authorities and armed forces.

City police chief ACP Habibi Majinji said the haul is estimated at RM60,000.
