KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) has urged the authorities concerned to quickly solve the matter of the disconnection of water supply to staff quarters of the education department (Kuarters Insitusi Pendidikan) at Bukit Padang, here.
Urging this was SAPP Secretary-General Datuk Richard Yong We Kong who noted that more than 200 families suffered total disruption of water supply for one week since the main supply has been disconnected by the Water Department.
"It is understood that the Water Department disconnected the water supply to the teachers quarters last Tuesday."
"The residents at the teachers' quarters have to buy water and also to install their water tanks as can be seen in the place.
This problem is affecting the welfare and moral of the teachers who are already facing a hard time due to rising costs of living," said Richard in a statement issued on Monday, following a visit there to meet up with the disgruntled residents who had earlier complained to him.
Richard was accompanied by SAPP Information Chief Chin Vui Kai. - NST
