Yong who is also a former Chief Minister said as far as he knows, the quantum was the biggest damages ever awarded in a libel suit by a politician against another politician, here.
"Few years ago Harris was awarded RM50,000 in another defamation case and I was also awarded RM50,000 after I sued a local daily, the Sabah Times," He said at a gathering of leaders with the people at Dongonggon Point, here.
The event themed Land Reforms and Sabah Economy Plan was organised by the SAPP Moyog Constituency Liaison Committee.
Present were SAPP Moyog CLC Chairman Aloysius Danim Siap, SAPP Adviser Datuk Mohd Noor Mansur, SAPP Deputy President cum Sepanggar Member of Parliament Datuk Eric Majimbun, SAPP Deputy President cum Likas Assemblyman Datuk Liew Teck Chan and other party leaders.
Yong said he would continue to struggle for Sabah autonomy and free Sabah from the clutches of Kuala Lumpur and the injustices suffered by Sabah under the Umno-led BN government.
He also likened DAP manifesto of giving autonomy to Sabah as empty promises.
"Everything about DAP in Sabah is being controlled by DAP Kuala Lumpur leaders," he said.
He said another DAP promise of abolishing the Crude Palm Oil sales tax worth RM1 billion is an attempt to give back 80 to 90 per cent of the amount to major palm oil plantation companies from Kuala Lumpur.
Yong added that if that were to happen Sabah would lose RM1 billion every year and the already rich companies from Kuala Lumpur would be much richer while Sabah become more poorer. Sabah will become beggers to Putrajaya which is what DAP wants.
He said the DAP promise of giving the Petronas money to every household in Penang some RM6,000 annually will hurt Sabahans because the money come from Sabah.
"Penang does not produce oil and the Petronas money must be coming from oil extracted out of Sabah," he said.

He said Penang is already a rich state and giving its people money taken from a poor state like Sabah is very shameful.
He went on saying that DAP leaders in Sabah are toothless and afraid to carry out simple event without the presence of KL leaders.

Let the people decide for themselves. they know what is best for them. Just because SAPP is a local doesn't necessary mean that SAPP can be trusted.
Deleteada kabaran SAPP mahu bekerjasama dengan PKR dalam PRU akan datang. No party malaya?

If and surely if you never said anything about 'bloody' matter then may be someone can file a case that the judge is putting 'knife' in Yong's hand!!!
Any DARE Fighter in SAPP to proceed?
With expertise in legal matter you should know whether this is a commendable verdict and how to get the 'story teller' form Malaya who had made such a story of that event instead.
Yong, just shut up and pay up.
ReplyDeleteUMNOk murderers must be having nightmares every night and then. When the wrath of God roars, those evil umnokmen will be punished!
DeleteThis is the kind of running dog we have in Sabah...for you
Deletesudah kalah tu, ikut sajalah perintah mahkamah.
DeleteSabah parties should be fully supported by the people.
ReplyDeletebut sometimes our own parties cannot be trusted. then, how to support?
DeleteAll the parties need to win the people's trust if they want the people's support.
DeletePlenty of local parties in Sabah, if one is not trusted there are others to be considered.
DeleteThis is the time where all Sabahans remain firm and unite with dignity.
ReplyDeleteKurang paham 'remain firm and unite' tu kalo sabahan dapat RM1 juta daripada sabahan?
DeleteKalo pemimpin lagi hebat dtg bagi lumayan habislah wayang!
Let the people decide as they know what is best for them.
ReplyDeleteThe people have wisen up. They know what is best for them.
DeleteHopefully the people of Sabah will vote wisely on the next GE.

ReplyDeleteWe have the right to know what happened many years ago. This isn't over yet.
ReplyDeleteof course this is not over yet..
Deletebut seems like 'let bygones be bygones'.
Deleteit's not to shut up Sabahan, but to shut up those politicians who unable to respects the family victims who don't want this sad tragedy raised again..
ReplyDeletewrong,,, the families want justice done...sadly they also want to forget the incident...but if justice and truth were revealed finally, they will want judgement to be done to the culprits, the conspirators, the murderers of their husbands, fathers, or son.
DeleteWhy don't you two go and ask the family what they want. Cannot presume what are they wishes without consulting them first.
Deleteif you really concern about it, you should raise it up during your tenure as chief minister of Sabah..
ReplyDeleteheadhunter, kau bodoh punya cacap. Memang kau orang UMNO. Bagus kau balik ke kampung kau di Putrajaya, nanti the real headhunter of Borneo ambil kepala kau.
DeleteI don think so the family wish for such a sympathy more than putting Sabah in wrong hands even for the deceased one!
DeleteNot so if for your inheriting of your old time headhunting ancestor papa who just need sympathy after such sacrifice without any explanation!

ReplyDeleteIf YTL is sincere to find the truth behind the plane tragedy, he should had bring up this matter when he was the cm back then.
DeleteYTL is too afraid that his position then will be affected if he raise it up that time. So much for sincerity.
Deletediharap rakyat tidak akan terkeliru...
ReplyDeleteSudah2 lah tu.. Jangan lagi kasi panjang cerita yang sudahpun diputuskan makamah.
ReplyDeleteTidak ada guna mahu bising kalau dulu masa jadi CM, buka mulut pun tak!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the reason why YTL didn't say anything about the tragedy when he was the cm because there is not point at all. He already got what he wanted at that time which is the CM post. The situation now is different. Election is just around the corner so its not surprising at all that YTL want to use the plane tragedy to get the people support him.
Deletegoes to show that they are just playing with the people's sentiments
DeleteNoble intentions must be respected! Yong has done what he has done for justice!
ReplyDeleteunfortunately he has to pay for the price.
DeleteHarris the devil, well knew what happen that day.. If he has has the guts to tell the world that the incident was orchestrated by Mahathir or any BN people, he will be absolved from going to hell!
ReplyDeleteThe tragedy left us confuse to what actually happen on that day. Only God knows.
DeleteWhat goes around, will comes around.
DeleteThe truth will eventually come out where there is strong prove.
ReplyDelete*when
Deleteyong sapa suruh kaua buat tuduhan tanpa bukti, kena suruh bayar tu bayarlah, tidak payah nak pengaruhi rakyat lagi.
ReplyDeleteBerhati-hati bila mengeluarkan sebarang kenyataan kerana dunia politik penuh dengan tipu daya.
Deleteapparently he hasn't learn his lesson. First he 'insinuated' that Harris was involved with the D6 tragedy....now this....
DeleteJadi perlu ingat perkara yang dibangkitkan oleh Yong adalah sangat sukar untuk mencari kebenaran. Apa pun yang penting sekarang Yong perlulah membayar RM1 Juta tersebut kepada Datuk Harris.
ReplyDeleteI million to shut up not only Yong and SAPP but the whole lot of our Sabahans who were kept wondering until this day what actually happen? The conspiracy or otherwise...that is what we want to know.
Deletekeputusan mahkamah haruslah dihormati oleh semua pihak dan sebarang isu tidak harus dimanipulasikan.
