PENAMPANG - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) has cautioned against the restoration of the local government election in the country, that it may not necessary yield the desirable results.
Cautioning this was SAPP President Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee while speaking at the dinner held at a leading Chinese restaurant here on Thursday, in conjunction with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of SAPP Kepayan.
Yong who is a former Chief Minister of Sabah cited the case of Philippines and Singapore for example, where the former despite having local government elections, has not seen a desirable result but, the latter which without one, has one of the most efficient local governments in the region.
He was taking a swipe at the Sabah DAP leaders ,who hailed the intended move by the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to enact a law to hold the "third vote" process to restore the long-suspended local government election in the country, should it form the new Federal government.
"This is the typical 'parroting' culture of some of our local leaders who are always subservient to their central political masters, without having any independent views," he quipped.
Contending that such a move may not be suitable for Sabah, he said Sabah PR should not follow their central leaders blindly.
Yong who is a former Chief Minister of Sabah also stressed that the PR Sabah leaders must not get confuse between the concept of "decentralisation" and "autonomy".
He reiterated that all right-thinking Sabah people, the leaders especially, should fight hard to regain their rightful autonomy, instead of talking about "decentralisation of power" which the Federal government can always rescind, at its whim and fancy.
He thus said the only way for the people of Sabah to regain full control of their destiny and, to end their perennial miseries, is to unite to vote the UMNO-led Barisan Nasional (BN) out in the coming General Elections.
"Let us all end our long miseries in the coming General Election by eliminating all the "buaya" (crocodiles) who have been grabbing the people's land and businesses," urged Yong to a thunderous applauds from a 400-guests crowd.
The "buaya" here was referring to a certain UMNO/BN politicians who were allegedly involved in the alleged business (sand monopoly by SEDCO) and the prevailing land-grabbing issues in the State.
Yong also urged the people of Sabah to have full confidence in themselves that they are capable of managing their own affairs, instead of having to rely on the West Malaysian leaders.
Besides this, he also took a swipe at the Barisan Nasional (BN) government's ongoing antics of dishing out goodies including cash to the people that, at the rate of cash being distributed to the people, if the general election is not held fast, the Government will soon go bankrupt.
He was obviously referring to the latest announcement made by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak that, all 112,635 Felda settlers will get RM15,000 per family, to be paid out in three payments.
Meanwhile, in his speech, SAPP Kepayan CLC Chairman Chong Pit Fah urged the people of Sabah to vote in SAPP as the new State government in the coming general election, so as to regain autonomy for the State and to end all the perennial problems affecting them, such as the illegal immigrants, dubious citizens, land, business and job grabbing, unemployment, Cabotage policy-induced high-cost of living etc.
"We, ourselves, not the UMNO and BN leaders, should be the master of our own destiny," he concluded.
The only way is full independence!

YES, YES! FULL INDEPENDENCE FOR SABAH SARAWAK- KELUAR MALAYSIA!
DeleteSome facts & reasons why:
1. Sabah & Sarawak lost their right to independence by being forcibly incorporated into neo-colonial Malaysia in 1963.
Sabah "indepedence" from British colonial rule was only a fleeting moment as was quickly made part of Malaysia.
Sarawak was an independent state and nation from 1842 to 1942 before it became a Japanese colony and then British in 1946 and now Malayan colony. Thus for Sarawak it is to regain its independence.
2. These 2 colonies are the corner stones of Malaysia - essentially a neo-colonial creation of Britain & Malaya to preserve colonial domination and plunder of their land economy and people with the installation of UK puppet UMNO regime in power over us.
This is symbolised by the Sabah and Sarawak Towers misnamed as Petronas Tower built in KL with our oil revenues!
Without these 2 colonies there is no "Malaysia". So Malaya needs us more than we need Malaya.
3. The Malayan UMNO government abused the agreed federation rights in the Malaysian Agreement and 18/20 Points Agreements for "Borneonization". Borneonization was to reflect that Sabahans and Sarawakians were to gain control of their own political and economic sphere of influence. Refer back to Wikisabah News article on "Some Lies for BN .."
We have however seen 48 years of "Malayanization" of poltiics, civil administration public services- in fact UMNO federalised aand control everything from local police teachers, civil servants including Labuan not to mention huge pieces of FELDA Sabah and Sarawak land!. Sabah is even ruled by an UMNO branch with the same template of graft and corruption. That is why Sabahans are not happy.
4. The crux of the whole matter is that Sabah and Sarawak politics and economy have increasingly become dominated by Malayan parties and Malayan companies. The major natural resource oil has been siphoned by Petronas (which is not accountable to us as the owners)to develop Malaya and enrich a few UMNO big time thieves like Mahathir and cronies. Oil revenue and taxes pay for many projects and enriched many UMNOcrats and cronies in the last 48 years.
It is unclear if the Sabah and Sarawak ruling parties get any kick back for letting UMNO control our oil.
5. Add the list of the evils of Malayanisation provided by Daniel Jambun some time ago. Readers can search back in Wikisabah which records has numerous articles on the disadvantages of being part of "Malaysia" such as the "Roots vauses of poverty in Sabah" "Some Lies for BN to Answer"...."Star: Rich Sabah poorest state in Malaysia".
6. We have had more than 48 years of abuse in our relationship with Malaya which has seen both Sabah and Sarawak being reduced to be 2 of the poorest parts of the Malaysia neo-colony. The plunder of these territories have been made possible with the installation of local pliable regimes which are allowed to plunder our countries while UMNO gets a free hand to plunder our oil and tax us.
It is time we get up and get our countries Sabah and Sarawak out of Malaysia!
For real independence we must unite to get rid of the local puppet rulers and UMNO domination and set up a programme to reconstruct our ravaged economies.
UNITE FOR A FREE INDEPENDENT SABAH & SARAWAK!

YTL wil be end...
Deletepembangkang amat sukar nak bekerjasama. mereka masing2 nak tunjuk hebat. egois.
DeleteBN Sabah menang jadi pembangkang.
DeleteFrom the way i see it, the opposition will not cooperate.
DeletePossible if SAPP still in BN.
DeleteBn akan menang dalam PRU13 ini.
Deletemasing2 mahu tunjuk hero ni pembangkang...
ReplyDeleteThat is why its impossible for the opposition to win the election.
DeleteArrogant and greedy. no cooperation amongst them.
Deleteitu YTL mahu jadi CM saja bah tu...lain2 mana dia kisah tu..mahu balas dendam barangkali..
ReplyDeleteIts YTL dream to be the CM. He is hungry for power.
DeleteHe is hungry for power to help return power back to Sabahans so that Sabah will become rich and prosperous again.
DeleteRasanya bilalah SAPP ada pemimpin baru ganti YTL ni?
DeleteSudah2 la bah angan2 mahu jadi CM tu.
DeleteYTL masih lagi mimpi mau jadi CM, kupakan sajalh.
DeleteYupz, we should be able to stand on our own feet already and run our own state like a BOSS !!
ReplyDeleteHope to see the new Sabah after 13th GE!
DeleteSabah is capable of handling anything as long as it is pertaining to the state affairs.
ReplyDeleteIt is high time we stood up and unite as one.
ReplyDeleteIf we can do it before then we can do it again.
ReplyDeleteNothing can stop us if only we are together.
ReplyDeleteI hope we can work things out as one.
ReplyDeleteUnity is the only way to win the election.
ReplyDeletePeople are beginning to see Sabahans are capable and SPP is sincere, that is why support is going up. Orang BN getting worried, firing like mad in internet. Ha Ha.
ReplyDeleteThat's what SAPP likes to think. But we shall see the truth after the votes are counted during the next GE.
DeleteBN will surely win, SAPP stop dreaming.
DeleteJust let SAPP handle their own affairs, I'm sure other parties does not like it if outsiders tried to tell them what to do.
ReplyDeletePihak pembangkang jangan bersatu, keuntungan tu kalau pembangkang kalah...
