What is Patriotism?

By Hj Amde Sidik

KOTA KINABALU - I couldn’t agree more with Datuk Patrick Sindu (Consumer-cum- social activist) DE 04/07/2012 on the issue of praising for defacing properties, which Patrick called it ‘vandalising spree’ by painting, 1,000 trees and rocks with 1Malaysia logo.

In my view, the Assistant Minister who praised instead of criticizing must be out of his mind.

What are trees we planted for and rock that are there to beautify our surroundings?

If this retiree, is doing it out of patriotism he should learn what patriotism is all about.

There are many ways to express our love of country. Mind you, there is a different between the kind love we hold for to our leader and love we hold for our nation, surely not necessarily shown by ruining public property because others may not share what Sabturani Angsa’s is doing.

Some people like trees as trees not as canvas.

My patriotism isn’t based on because I agree with the leader of my country.

My patriotism to my country is regardless whoever in power and that would not make it different. But if the person, the leader who I happened to share his views with, that is mine altogether.

  1. SUGGEST EVERYONE PATRIOT- GO PAINT UP THIS PRESUMPTUOUS IDIOT'S HOUSE WITH "1MALAYA"

    What a PR..K!

He is not free to vandalise the public place but he is free to paint his whole house with "1Malaysia" if he is so "patriotic".

Applying his logic everyone can freely go to paint up his house with the sign!

Furthermore, If this guy loves his Malayan masters so much he can migrate to Malaya....

And take all the illegals with him!

Why "1Malaysia"? This only reinforces the colonial ideology of dominating Sabah and Sarawak by UMNO.

For Sabahans and Sarawakians it is betrayal not patriotism to kowtow to the foreign Malayan master!

  2. PAINTING UP A FILTHY MESS FOR "MALAYSIA COLONISATION DAY" ON 31 AUGUST!

It seems this guy is VANDALISING the town for the coming Malaysia Colonization Day on 31 August!

And his foreign masters let him freely mess up the town without reprimand or charge him with vandalism. Democracy UMNO style!

We should all demand that this arrogant chap go back and clean up the filthy mess he created!

Why did we get “independence on 31 August 1963”?

This was just a cunning trick of the Malayan colonials who annexed Sabah in 1963- they made sure that we all celebrate THEIR independence day. It is a symbol of their dominating Sabah.

We can also commemorate this date as “Resistance Day” against the imposition of Malaysia on Sabahan ad Sarawak- and call it ”Malaysia Colonisation Day”.

Sabahans on this day we protest by flying the colonial flag UPSIDE DOWN- Sabah sinking in distress!

    1. Paint the rock I can understand, artistic representation of patriotism. Painting the tree might not be so good for the health of the tree.

    3. Please read the fine print "their arse" i.e.UMNO worshippers arses.

Better still brand their arses with "1Malaya"! if they live the Malayans so much!

"1Malaysia" stands for Malayanization and colonization of Sabah... No one denies that.

Anyone who does are welcome to migrate to Malaya & take all the illegals with them!
