Sabah Merdeka 49 billboard splashed with black paint


KOTA KINABALU - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) has lodged a police report against the unscrupulous act of splashing black paint on the billboard on ‘Sabah Independence 49 years’ in Luyang here.

The report was made at the police headquarters in Kota Kinabalu districts Karamunsing here this afternoon.

Francis Mojikon, who is the organising Secretary of the Sabah Independence Day Celebration has filed the report.

"Despicable act of splashing black paint was a coward deed by one who fears the truth about the actual date of Sabah gaining independence made known.

"Why should I fear when in fact history cannot be changed. The truth about the age of Sabah's independence will definitely be known in the end.

"I am certain immoral acts committed by parties do not want to totally uncovered the truth," he said.

He said SAPP hope the police will be able to trace the culprit behind the irresponsible act.

He said SAPP efforts awaken a people about the actual date of Sabah gained independence from Britain should be supported all parties in the state and is not blocked or sabotaged.

He said, it is not unlawful when historical facts upheld because while Malaysia especially in Sabah has bribed with false facts by the Federal Government.

He said Sabah gained independence from the British on August 31, 1963 while the country comprising Malaysia Sabah, Sarawak, Malaya and Singapore formed on 16 September 1963.

He said, Malaya gained independence from the British on August 31, 1957.

"Therefore, the actual age is 49 years independence of Sabah as well as Malaysia while Malaya 55.

"Celebration of Independence Day, which is celebrated throughout the country during the August 31, 1957 This is the anniversary of Malaya and has nothing to do with Sabah or Malaysia.

"Was it wrong for the truth is upheld," Francis said, adding that the Federal Government should correct the mistakes they have done over the years.

      A construction worker was bitten by a crocodile during a toilet break in a river in Malaysian Borneo, but fought off the huge reptile and escaped with his life.

      Pai punched the two-metre (6.5-foot) crocodile in the eye after it bit him just above his right buttock, and despite being in incredible pain and soaked in blood managed to summon help, reports said Saturday.

      The attack happened early Friday, when the 32-year-old decided to take his chances in the river in Sarawak state despite knowing it was infested with crocodiles.

      The labourer, an Indonesian who works at a nearby construction site, had just finished relieving himself under a bridge when the animal bit him from behind.

      "Fortune favoured me when the crocodile let go after I punched it in the eye," he was quoted by Malay tabloid Harian Metro as saying.

      "After being freed from the jaws of the crocodile, I found extraordinary strength to run and call for help even though my waist was extremely painful."

      Several newspapers ran pictures of Pai, who like many Indonesians goes by one name, lying on his stomach at the Sarawak General Hospital with bandages on his waist and hip area.

      According to The Star newspaper, he also suffered puncture wounds on the left side of his ribs.

      Crocodile attacks have been a constant problem in Malaysia, with several deaths reported in the past few years.

      The Star reported that a 14-year-old boy was still recovering at the same hospital after a crocodile attack on Wednesday.

      Two years ago, a Malaysian businessman settled out of court for 43,000 ringgit ($14,000) after he was bitten by a crocodile while playing golf at a resort near the historic port town of Malacca just south of Kuala Lumpur.

  3. Sebagai negara yang berdaulat dan merdeka,Malaysia mempunyai satu kalender kemerdekaan resmi iaitu 31hb Ogos.Ini bukan bererti menafikan Sabah merdeka setelah memasuki Malaysia pada tarikh 16hb September 1963.

Ada ramai juga pemimpin BN Sabah yang perangainya macam si anon ini atau sudah 'otak keras macam batu' tak faham bahasa. perkataan seperti memasuki,mengikuti atau menyertai secara rela adalah perkataan yang salah sebab majoriti rakyat Sabah pada masa itu tidak bersetuju dan tidak pernah mahu menyertai penubuhan Malaysia. Tapi oleh kerana strategi penipuan para pemimpin Umno menyebabkan negara Malaysia terbentuk secara halus tanpa dapat dielakkan lagi. Sehingga sekarang kita terpinga-pinga dan terkelip-kelip di bawah jajahan sulit pihak Malaya. Maknanya kita dijajah secara diam-diam oleh kerajaan persekutuan. Fahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam kah....????

    Lagi sesiapa yang suka mempolitik sejarah tak mesti dapat sokongan undi orang muda.

    Kami minta dan sedia melihat tindakan Perdana Menteri,di sini pemimpin tepat sekali sesuai menjelaskan sejarah Merdeka Negara Malaysia pada rakyat.Guna kuasa bertindak ke atas golongan yang bukan-bukan betul setia pada negara dan gantung kerakyatan mereka.

Succumbing to widespread objections of the people, including its own supporters, PR decided to adopt the common theme of “Sebangsa, Senegara, Sejiwa”. Initially, the theme for Kelantan was “Menerajui Perubahan” (Spearheading Change)”, Kedah was “Terus Berbakti” (Unfailing Service) and Penang was “Budaya Bersih, Merdekakan Rakyat” (Clean Culture, Liberating the People).

What was originally meant to be a day to unite all Malaysians has now become another bone of contention to divide Malaysians even further.

For the ruling party BN, this important day serves as the best platform for it to exhibit and publicise its achievements or track record since independence; for the opposition, Merdeka Day is the time to spread its political message: it is time to free Malaysia from the grip of “the powerful but corrupt political elites” that has been in power since Independence 55 years ago.

It is timely for us to remind our political leaders to revisit, rediscover and reaffirm the true spirit of Merdeka and the vision that our founding fathers inspired for this new country called Malaya in 1957, the year the predecessor of Malaysia was born.

The true spirit of Merdeka and the vision of Tunku Abdul Rahman, the first prime minister of Malaysia, are best summed up in the following words in the 1957 Proclamation of Independence (the Proclamation 1957): “… (This nation) shall be for ever a sovereign democratic and independent State founded upon the principles of liberty and justice and ever seeking the welfare and happiness of its people and the maintenance of a just peace among all nations”.

It connects one generation to the next by restraining the present generation from societal experimentation and government excess. There really is no other standard by which the ideas and vision of our founding fathers can be interpreted without abandoning the underlying spirit or principles altogether.

If Proclamation 1957’s meaning can be rewritten or erased, and our founding fathers’ intentions ignored, it ceases to be the 1957 Proclamation of Independence that we know and would instead be a concoction of political expedients that serve the contemporary policy agendas of the few who are entrusted with public authority to preserve it.

It should be reminded that in the present context, a nation’s sovereignty can be compromised, its principles of liberty and justice can be threatened, and the welfare and happiness of its people can be unsettled not only by the usual suspect of foreign imperialism but also by its very own oppressive and corrupt regime, filthy rich and ruthless big businesses, or extremist elements in all forms. And worse still, a combination of all of the above.

    3. MALAYSIA tidak pernah merdeka. Mengapa? Pernahkah Malaysia dijajah? TIDAK! Apa yang perlu disambut ialah Hari Malaysia (Malaysia Day) pada 16 September setiap tahun.

      Bukankah dengan mengatakan Malaysia Merdeka, ia membawa erti seolah-olah Malaysia pernah dijajah oleh kuasa asing? Kalau betul Malaysia dijajah, siapakah yang menjajah Malaysia?
      Setahu saya, hanya North Borneo (Sabah), Sarawak, Singapore dan Malaya sahaja yang dijajah oleh kuasa asing iaitu British. Pada 31 Ogos 1957 adalah hari kemerdekaan Malaya yang bebas daripada kuasa asing manakala Sabah merdeka pada 31 Ogos 1963.

      Maka, jangan keliru akan perkara ini yang telah diputar belitkan oleh kerajaan Malaya kerana 'Malaysia' adalah nama yang dipersetujui oleh empat buah negara yang ingin membentuk negara bersekutu.

      Walaupun sebelum itu, Malaya ingin mengunakan nama Melayu Raya dalam persekutuan ini (konsep yang dicuri daripada Indonesia yang berkeinginan untuk mewujudkan negara Indonesia Raya) tetapi tidak diterima oleh 3 buah negara kerana ia lebih mengambarkan Kemelayuan.

      Maka, sedarlah akan hal ini. Kibarkan bendera Sabah dan bukan bendera Jalur Gemilang kerana jikalau anda sedari, itu adalah bendera penjajah!

      Oleh itu, saya menyeru anda sekalian yang menggelarkan diri mereka 'Anak Sabah', 'Bangsa Sabah', 'Bangsa yang Merdeka dan Berdaulat' dan 'Bangsa yang Berani' untuk bersama-sama kibarkan bendera Sabah sebanyak yang mungkin di halaman rumah, kampung atau sekitar tempat tinggal anda untuk menghidupkan semangat Kemerdekaan yang telah diberikan kepada kita oleh pihak British pada 31 Ogos 1963.

      Tarikh inilah yang mesti kita pertahankan walau apa cara sekalipun. Jangan cuba menafikan kenyataan ini kerana ini adalah fakta! Maka, mari kita bersama-sama menyambut hari Kemerdekaan kita. Kemerdekaan Negara Sabah (North Borneo) kerana kita sekali Merdeka, selamanya MERDEKA!

      31 August 1957 : Federated States of Malaya gain Independence from the Britain.

      31 August 1963 : North Borneo (Sabah) was officially granted Independence from United Kingdom.

      22 July 1963 : Sarawak was officially granted Independence from United Kingdom.

      16 September 1963 : Sarawak together with North Borneo (Sabah), Singapore and Federation of Malaya formed the Federation of Malaysia as EQUAL PARTNER.Separate but Equal Entity.
