SANDAKAN - Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) promised to solve
problems affecting Kampung Pulau Berhala Laut residents once given the
mandate to govern Sabah after the coming 13th general election.SAPP supreme councillor Ken Yong, who is also a practising lawyer, said one of the major problems affecting Kampung Pulau Berhala Laut residents is land titles ownership.
"SAPP once took over the Government of Sabah would waste no time to solve the land titles issue affecting this squatter settlement.
"With titles ownership granted to the kampung people, then issues concerning basic facilities such as electricity and water supply, schools, clinics and etc will become easier to tackle," Ken said.
He
was speaking to Kampung Pulau Berhala Laut folks during a visit to the
squatter settlement accompanied by SAPP Sandakan leaders.Also present is
SAPP Central Youth Chief Edward Dagul.Ken said he felt sad when kampung folks informed him that there is no electricity supply all these years.
He added that it was more heartening when there is no piped water supply.
"I was made to understanf that kampung folks have to rely on the wells and the rain water.Thats the cleanest water they can get," he added.
He said SAPP is gaining support day after day and the warm welcome showed by the kampung folks is evidence.

Penduduk Kampung Pulau Berhala yang majoritinya dari suku kaum Bajau.
