Dr Jeffrey: Sabah leaders need to join hands to oust illegitimate govt

“The unprecedented and shocking, to say the least, revelations at the on-going Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) on phantom voters and illegitimate voters enabling fraudulent wins for Umno/BN candidates is the clarion call for all Sabah leaders across the political divide to join hands to oust the illegitimate government and to call for the suspension of the forthcoming general elections in Sabah until the electoral rolls are cleaned up” said Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of STAR SABAH in a press statement released today.

It distresses genuine Sabahans and Malaysians no end that the revelations at the RCI are confirming that even the worst of our nightmares on the poor governance of Sabah are nothing compared to what we are hearing.

We hear of illegal immigrants being given registration receipts and used as voters for hire to ensure wins for Umno/BN candidates including a former chief minister, and who would have lost if not for these voters for hire, at RM20 per head and dubious issuance of identity cards to unqualified foreigners and them being registered as voters and naturally supporting the BN.

On Friday’s hearing, we hear of foreigners who were born in India and had travelled to Sabah using Indian passports but end up as Malaysian citizens said to be born in Sabah and given Malaysian ICs and passports and having voted 4 to 5 times in the past.   What was more shocking was that they merely signed forms and even their place of birth was put in by others and the ICs were hand delivered?

The unprecedented revelations are certainly a first in world history and the international community, the world legal fraternity and the United Nations Security Council and its members should seriously study to stand by the long suffering people of Sabah and Sarawak in Malaysia.

Back home, we urge all local Sabah leaders, NGOs and the people to come together and join hands with STAR Sabah in this grave and darkest moment in Malaysia and Sabah’s history to take a common stand on what the RCI has revealed.

It is clear that the present Sabah government is illegitimate and can only be a caretaker government, at best, and should be ousted by the people of Sabah.

The Election Commission, which is supposed to be impartial as set out and required in the Federal Constitution, should stop its nonsense and ensure that fair and free elections are carried out in the 13th general elections.   Given the revelations at the RCI until now, it is obvious that the electoral rolls, at least in Sabah, are tainted and needs to be cleaned up before the general elections can be held in Sabah.

We cannot allow illegitimate voters and foreigners to vote and determine the future of Sabah.  The forthcoming general elections in Sabah should not be held until the RCI has completed its task and the electoral rolls are totally cleaned up and free from dubious, illegitimate and foreigner voters.

STAR Sabah will be holding a Press Conference on Monday, 21 January 2013, at 10.30 am. at the Sabah Oriental Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, regarding the revelations at the RCI, the role of the SPR in the light of these revelations and the coming general elections.

We take this opportunity to invite all Sabah leaders across the political divide, NGOs and the people to attend the Press Conference so that we, the people and leaders of Sabah, can make a common stand.

We need to “SELAMATKAN SABAH TANAH AIRKU” for the future good of Sabah and Sabahans.

“SELAMATKAN SABAH TANAH AIRKU”

Datuk Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, Chairman of STAR Sabah

The current debate is intended to discredited Jeffrey as a politician.

While we remain cautioned by his past actions, he will be judged by what he says and do from this point on. So he has to act with the greatest honesty transparency and integrity to prove all doubters wrong about his alleged "chameleon" qualities.

However, we can only judge him on what he is now saying and doing.

Jeffrey has been taking the line of re-asserting Sabahan's right to self rule and independence rights.

Over 50 years Sabah has been steered in the directions of a dependent colony and resource centre to develop Malaya and enrich UMNO BN elites and cronies.

Not many people are pointing this out. Jeffrey and colleaques and also SAPP have done so and struck a chord with Sabahans on the issues of independence since 1963.

The big question is do the 2 major size countries/"equal partners" in Malaysia -Sabah and Sarawak have genuine independence in Malaysia? What did they get out of being in Malaysia for 50 years?

Sabah became independent on 31 Aug 1963 and Sarawak on 22 July 1963 and was swallowed into Malaysia in a matter of weeks by 16 Sept 1963.

Since that time Sabah and Sarawak have been floundering as far as real self rule is concerned and they became only the 12th and 13th territories of Malaya.

Jeffrey and colleagues say Sabah and Sarawak are no more than colonies or vassal states of Malaya. And they are speaking the truth.

Do you not all notice that attacks are on his character and not their message.

There is little debate on the facts and figures being raised on 50 years in Malaysia apart from lame apologies by UMNO hacks.

Let us concentrate on issues around the failure of "independence in Malaysia".

Why have we not enjoying "security and the fruits of the economic development"? promised to entice us into Malaysia?

Should we not review the unhappy relationship with Malaya?

Should we not ask if we would be better of OUTSIDE Malaysia like independent Brunei and Singapore?

Do we want another 50 years on enslavement as a Malayan colony?

UMNO under PM Razak refused to review the "Malaysia Agreement" in 1973 when requested by CM Stephens.

It is time for us to demand an independence referendum supervised by the United Nations. No need for review!

      Ini Kali Lah!

WHAT DATUK WILDFROG BUMBURING THINK ABOUT JEFFROG KITINGAN!!

As an opposition party STAR should be directing their attack to the Barisan Nasional instead they choose to attack fellow opposition parties. They only do this because STAR is working for BN to split the votes in the coming election.

  13. WHAT DATUK WILDFROG BUMBURING THINK ABOUT JEFFROG KITINGAN!!

Jeffry Kitingan can’t find any other words to attack me apart from describing me of practising politics of ‘cari makan’. If l were to practise politic of 'cari makan' then the best platform would be to remain in BN.

Generally, you wouldn't find it very ironic for someone who left the comfort of a ruling party like BN to join the the opposition camp and thereafter be labelled as practising politic 'cari makan'?

Jeffry came to this desperate act because STAR is falling apart since the formation of APS. The dissolution of the Papar STAR is but the beginning.

  16. WHAT DATUK WILDFROG BUMBURING THINK ABOUT JEFFROG KITINGAN!!

The people, particularly the KDM began to see the fruitless and almost fairy tale so-called vision of Jeffry Kitingan such as promising to move the capital of Sabah to Keningau and creating five ‘states’ in Sabah if STAR take control of the state after GE 13.

    ReplyDelete
  17. WHAT DATUK WILDFROG BUMBURING THINK ABOUT JEFFROG KITINGAN!!

Personally I can expect this so called vision from a person who claims to be able to see fairy and able to communicate with the spirits of river stones and jar.

"My political history is well recorded and I need not have to eloborate. In contrast, the people in general especially Sabahans are well versed with the political record of Jeffry Kitingan.

  18. WHAT DATUK WILDFROG BUMBURING THINK ABOUT JEFFROG KITINGAN!!

All his political endeavour points to only one thing and that is, he is trapped in his never-quashed-ambition to be the only number one in any political party that he ever joined and his sheer belief, may be from spiritual guru prediction, that one fine day he is going to be the chief minister of Sabah.

  19. WHAT DATUK WILDFROG BUMBURING THINK ABOUT JEFFROG KITINGAN!!

Way back during the PBS era, when Jeffry was released from ISA detention and confined to house arrest in Kuala Lumpur he was allowed to travel to Sabah briefly with the mission to persuade Datuk Pairin Kitingan then to step down as President of PBS and Chief Minister of Sabah and that he will take over the CM post from Pairin.

  20. WHAT DATUK WILDFROG BUMBURING THINK ABOUT JEFFROG KITINGAN!!

He called me to have a meeting and I told him that he can come to meet me at my office at the Ministry of Communication and Works but he told me that he is not that free to move around as he is being followed because technically he is still under house arrest.

  21. WHAT DATUK WILDFROG BUMBURING THINK ABOUT JEFFROG KITINGAN!!

So I agreed to travel to Tambunan to meet him. In the meeting he told me that he needed my support for him to take over PBS and the state government. I told him flat on his face that there is no way I condone the scheme. Therefore the meeting was brief and I came back and I was made to understand that he went back to Kuala Lumpur.

Then he thereafter caused big problem in AKAR when he tried to take over the presidency of AKAR. So he had ventured in so many a place to ‘cari makan’. But just ‘cari makan’ is not enough for him. He must have ‘ makan besar’.

Let me clarify to Jeffry that APS is not a ‘sub-servience to any party in Pakatan Rakyat’. As announced by Datuk Seri Annuar recently APS together with PPPS is an equal partner in Pakatan Rakyat.

We subscribe in the national agenda for change. As per the Borneo agenda the Kuching Declaration by Pakatan Rakyat is the Borneo agenda of the opposition coalition.

"Refering to my encounter with Jeffry in my house I asked Jeffry as to what he meant by a ‘King Maker’ and I asked him to explain about his statement that he is ready to support BN.

He said that as a king maker he can bargain. I told him that if he is prepared to support BN then why bother to use STAR, might as well just join BN. Yes of course he won’t join any of the BN component parties because he will never be the number one there.

  30. WHAT DATUK WILDFROG BUMBURING THINK ABOUT JEFFROG KITINGAN!!

I remember during the PBS time we have initiated unity talk among PBS, AKAR and PBRS in KL. After the first round of discussion we have agreed not to reveal the discussion to the public as we have agreed to have further discussion in Sabah.

However as soon as Jeffry landed in Sabah he revealed everything to the press. When I confronted him as to why he did not abide by our agreement he just merely said, “well the people need to be informed”.
