KOTA KINABALU - Five people have been detained in relation to the shooting spree in and around Kota Kinabalu on Jan 10.
Sabah Commissioner of Police Datuk Hamza Taib said Monday an airgun was also seized following the arrest of the five men.
However, two of the five men have been released.
On the night of Jan 10 and into the early hours of the next day, a group of people went on a drive-by shooting spree, targeting some 25 premises in the capital city.
Glass panes and glass doors of hotels, shopping malls, banks and fast-food outlets in Kota Kinabalu were shattered or dotted with single bullet holes during the one-hour vandalism.
The men suspected of the shooting were caught on closed-circuit television footage. They had been driving around in three vehicles, police had said.
Police had found three marbles believed to have been used as air-rifle bullets.
