Umno-BN's mistreatment and racist sidekicks the cause for Secession call

TAMPARULI - A Sabah assemblyman while blaming Umno-led Barisan National for seeding now raging calls for Sabah and Sarawak to secede from Malaysia, also reminded locals of Sulu’s ‘long term objective’.

Tamparuli assemblyman Wilfred Mojilip Bumburing said if people want to leave Malaysia, it is because of ruling Umno-BN  and its racist sidekicks.

He said calls by certain BN leaders to those who opposed Umno and BN to leave the country and live elsewhere was the trigger factor.

“The calls by East Malaysians to secede from Malaysia as mentioned by Prof James Chin, to me, are caused by the widespread frustration of the people in the two states with regards to mistreatment (by Federal government) and the erosion of their special rights.

“There was also a statement made where it said that Malaysia is only for the Malays.

“Therefore those who mentioned secession can’t be blamed because of these irresponsible statement,” Bumburing, who is also the president of Angkatan Perubahan Sabah (APS) yesterday.

Bumburing however was not supportive of the idea of Sabah and Sarawak seceding from the federation.

“It is not a good idea for now. It is my sincere opinion that the idea of secession from Malaysia is not the best option.

“It is not a practical alternative in as far as Sabah is concerned.

“It must not be forgotten that the Sulu claim on Sabah is still hanging over us and also the large presence of the illegal immigrant in Sabah posed immediate “external threat” from within Sabah.” he argued.

The Sulus, he said, are now bolder to exert their claim on Sabah.

“The moment Sabah is out of Malaysia she will fall into the hand of the Sulus.

“The illegal immigrants in Sabah, though a large number of them were given Malaysian ICs, however, their loyalty to Malaysia is questionable.

“I strongly believe that the Sulu heir’s long term objective is to realize the claim.

“This fact must not be forgotten by the people in Sabah as well as the government,” Bumburing pointed out.
