Probe abused primary school pupil

KOTA KINABALU - A probe is underway on an alleged abuse incident in a primary school here after photos of a pupil with an injured head spread on the social media.

The pictures showed a boy with a patch of blood on his head with claims that he was ‘slapped, ear pulled, and head smashed on a table” was posted on WhatsApp and Facebook.

Sabah Education Department director Datuk Jame Alip said he just received a report about the alleged incident and was at the school investigating the case.

“We want to know what’s the cause of this incident, I cannot say anything more now,” he said when contacted Tuesday.

It was learnt that a female teacher who was suspected of ‘punishing’ the pupil was still on duty as usual after the alleged incident.
