SORAK holds Black Sunday 3.0 to demand action on RCI report

KOTA KINABALU - Solidariti Rakyat (SORAK) will be holding a Black Sunday 3.0 gathering jointly with other local non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and United Sabah Alliance at Gaya Street on 18 October 2015.

According to SORAK's spokesman Jamain Sarudin, the gathering themed "Black Sunday 3.0"is the third one, will be organised to focus on the problems of illegal immigrants in Sabah.

The focus is based on three main points:
  1.  Demands the Sabah RCI Technical Committee to expedite with firm and drastic action following RCI report released in December last year.
  2.  Demands absolute solution to cleanse Sabah of illegal immigrants so as to reinstate Sabah’s status.
  3.  Calls for issuance of Sabah IC, to re-register and issue Sabah ICs to genuine Sabahans in accordance with existing laws of the country.
Jamain said notice has been given in accordance with the normal rules to the Karamunsing Police Station on Monday and the police informed that they have no objection but the organizers must obtain permission from City Hall as the owner of the premises.

He urged the public to give their support to the program on October 18 which will commence at 10:00 am at Gaya Street by wearing black T-shirts.

He also advised participants not to raise sensitive issues such as race, religion and issue relating to the Palace and so on.

Participants are encouraged to wear face masks due to the current haze condition.
