Hindu priest shot at point blank by gunman miraculously unhurt

GEORGE TOWN - A man believed to be an Ah Long’s agent fired three shots at a Hindu priest at point blank range at his home in Air Itam here Friday night yet missed.

In the 9pm incident outside 14-N, Jalan Satu off Jalan Air Itam, a lone gunman on a motorcycle fired at the priest, in his late 50s, while he was watering his plants.

The priest quickly fell to the ground but the gunman then fired another three shots at him, but all the shots missed.

The priest escaped uninjured. The gunman then sped past him.

According to a neighbour, Manju Bhargavi Nagendra, 23, they first heard firecracker-like sounds when the incident occured.

“When we went out to have a look, the man was lying on the road and his children came out to help him.

“One of his sons gave chase but failed to catch him,” she said.

Police have yet to reveal details of the case and a forensic investigation is ongoing.

A K-9 unit also stood by on guard.
