Bukit Aman cop gunned down in Kedah days before retirement

CHANGLUN - A policeman who was set to retire from the force was gunned down at a house in Taman Sri Hosba near Napoh here late last night.

Sub-inspector Abu Hashim Ismail, 54, who served with the Bukit Aman Anti-vice, Gaming and Secret Society Department (D7), died on the spot from four gunshot wounds to his back in the 11pm incident.

His remains were sent to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for a post-mortem.

It is learnt that Abu Hashim was on leave prior to the start of his retirement.

He had served at the Selangor police headquarters before being transfer to Bukit Aman.

Kedah police chief Datuk Asri Yusoff is scheduled to hold a press conference at the state police headquarters at 11am.
